  • Friendly family-run park between Newquay and Perranporth
  • Shop with essentials at reception and a supermarket down the road
  • Heated outdoor pool with terrace overlooking scenic countryside
Prepare for a warm friendly welcome and smart facilities at Perran Quay Touring Holiday Park, set between Newquay and Perranporth. The considerate family team at Perran Quay have set everything up for their guests' comfort, ensuring well-maintained amenities with free hot showers, a disabled shower and toilet including baby changing facilities, an undercover washing-up area with plenty of hot water, a chemical disposal point and a launderette with coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers. There's a heated pool here, to the rear of the inn and overlooking the roof terrace: have a dip then settle down on the terrace to soak up spectacular scenery of the Cornish countryside along with your drink. On site, the poolside bar is open during school holidays only. When the bar is open, it serves homemade food and refreshing local drinks, and also hosts entertainment nights a couple of nights per week. Perran Quay is in an elevated position overlooking the Cornish countryside but is flat and level. A shop is in reception, stocking essentials for convenience (a supermarket is easily accessible just down the road).

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked The staff were lovely, pitches was very well spaced, shower blocks kept clean and tidy, campsite was overall amazing

Disliked Could of done with a better and bigger play park for kids

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely comments.
We are only a small, family-run site, and we cannot compete with the much bigger sites with their larger play areas. Our play area is close to accommodations, it is aimed at smaller children, and our on-site children's day nursery.
In the summer, our tourer and tent fields have huge central areas where children can play within sight of their parents, and hopefully involve the parents more.

Just a quick note for future reference: we don't offer Wi-Fi at our location due to the rural terrain, which is why it isn't listed on our booking page. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise and hope to welcome you back again soon!

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Clean, really well laid out, peaceful and the owners were very welcoming. The fully serviced pitches are great and we didn’t have to level the caravan at all. Lovely 4.5 mile bike ride along the lanes to beautiful Crantock Beach and 3.5 miles to Holywell (less distance on the main road by car). Already booked to come back.

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Fantastic pitch. Clean tidy facilities. Lovely helpful staff.

Disliked Toilets while spotless, are dated. Leaving the park the exit is on a busy/fast road.

From the manager: Thanks so much for the lovely review.

We are indeed on the main road between Newquay and Perranporth, the A3075.
Alot of people love this fact because you can pull straight in and its not a narrow country lane like some campsites in Cornwall

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Lovely and clean showering and toilet facilities. Unfortunately no bar or restaurant open due to season but it would have been nice for it to be open as there was plenty of people on site

Disliked Bar/restaurant and pool are only open in season times it would be nice for these things to open more often

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We are a family-run site, over the last 10 years we have found the bar and restaurant aren't used very much espiecally with the cost of living, etc., so we have been operating the bar on a seasonal basis only for a few years. This is clearly pointed out via pitch-up.

The last week in May and all summer holidays.
Even then, only a handful of people use the facilities, so we cannot afford to operate at such a big loss im afraid.

The swimming pool is operated by a heat source air pump and takes at least 4 weeks to heat up, and is reliant on the sunshine, because of all the rain and storms we have been having, we couldn't put the cover on to retain any heat.
If another storm arrives, we then have to remove the cover, because it could blow off into the road and cause an accident. And again, all the heat is lost. The pool can be used at any stage, but it wouldn't be heated.

Highly recommend

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Not fully open as season had not begun.
Well kept pitch which was fully serviced.

Disliked The serviced pitch water connection had a tap with very few threads to connect hose connection, however went to reception and was given a connector that worked to create the water tight seal.

Local attractions

Prepare for a busy Cornish holiday doing exactly what you please – cliff walks, swimming, surfing, fishing, golfing or heritage hunting: Perran Quay Touring Holiday Park is only a few miles from Newquay and the illustrious north Cornish coast, and pretty much anywhere in Cornwall can be reached within an hour's drive. The local towns of Newquay and Perranporth should be first on the itinerary: Newquay for its world-famed surf, zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium; and Perranporth for a somewhat quieter surfing (or kitesurfing) experience at first-rate Perranporth Beach and another Cornish cider at The Watering Hole, the only pub in the country right on a beach. If you want to walk between the two, the South West Coast Path route runs for about 12 and a half fairly strenuous miles, leaving from Newquay harbour and crossing Fistral beach, another hallowed place for Cornwall surf. From here, pad across the Site of Special Scientific Interest of West Pentire headland for fab floral views, and then onto the towering dunes of Perran Sands and Holywell: yet another Cornish cider will be much deserved after your climb. On Newquay’s outskirts, the Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a chuffing good day out, in a location with rides, a boating lake, play areas, crazy golf, indoor play carriages, nature trails and a toddlers' maze alongside its woodland miniature railway.
