Nice enough site, however be aware of the touring pitches. 24/09/2018

Great views and facilities were very clean and modern.

    Disliked:

It's all a bit backwards for UK touring caravans. The waste and water points a designed for American RV 's so are on the side where you would be setting your awning up. They also seemed rather disorganised upon arrival, with nobody seemingly knowing where to put us.

An ok site with good access to Cornwall but we won’t be returning 02/09/2018

Carvynick is in a good location in the heart of Cornwall and has great access to main roads which made towing easy. The site also was very clean and tidy including the toilet facilities which is good

    Disliked:

The pitches were more suited for motor homes not caravans. The pitches looked very pretty with stone hard standing and decking but again not ideal for young families particularly the decking as when wet it’s very slippery and we had a few incidents. The site was not really equipped for kids as there was nothing for them to play on although not a major problem as tended to be out all day and kids made own entertainment. The on-site pub / restaurant was ok but again not kid friendly and we felt uncomfortable using the pub. The pub also attracted lots of additional traffic and this was noticeable from our pitch and some more needs to be done to slow cars down particularly as children are playing

From the manager...

Thank you for your review. We take negative feedback seriously and endeavour to put right any problems. We had a devastating fire in December which destroyed all our leisure facilities (apart from a small play area for children near the top touring pitches). The leisure facilities will be rebuilt and a bigger play area for children is planned. We are sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable using the pub and the additional traffic noise you noticed. You would have been welcome to see our reception about this matter, we could have probably moved you to another pitch.

    Disliked:

Not a good site for tent camping, poor facilities.
We complained because the site was deserted and not child friendly.
We were not allowed to park next to our pitch they requested us to park in the car park at the top of the hill far from the camping area.
Toilets and showers were also at top of the hill . A key is required £10 refundable to use the shower and toilet block.
The only place to recharge a mobile or laptop is in the shower block whilst having a shower.
No were to collect water or wash up other than the shower block.
The office reception closes early , so no-one to help if you need anything.
    No shop on site.
Having driven all the way from London my family were very disappointed . And I had to then drive even further to find a more suitable campsite.
We could not stay here and immediately lodged a complaint requesting a refund.
With none in the office with the authority to deal with our complaint. On my return to London I sent an email to the site manager
We have had no reply from the site manager regarding our refund. This is very poor customer service. I would strongly advise you to find a better campsite .

Me and my besties stayed in cottage 12 when attending our friends wedding in Newquay this summer. Cottage was very clean, cosy and modern. Plenty of room for us all to get ready. Alison on reception was very chatty and helpful - even said if our taxi didn't turn up she'd take us. Would defo recommend and stay here again.

We borrowed my parents motorhome for 4 weeks to do a tour of Devon and Cornwall. We had the best weather for it and had an amazing time. This particular site the staff were super friendly and couldn't help us enough with recommendations of things to see and do, we ate a couple of nights at the Fox's on site - which we really did enjoy the food. Lovely country side views and so peaceful. Would definitely return if we had the chance.

    Nice clean facilities. Peaceful.
If you need a last minute booking at peak time you will probably get one here, but you pay dearly for it.
Pub and restaurant on site - handy for a drink and a meal

    Disliked:

Site guide given on arrival full of errors. It says there is a pool and jacuzzi but they burnt down last year.
Cost for pitch very high - hardly anyone stays more than a night or two - not surprising
Actually 7 miles from Newquay - no way you will get there in 10 minutes as claimed
    No shop

From the manager...

Thank you for your review.
We apologise that you were given by error an old site guide upon arrival. Usually we hand out the updated site guides in which we have taken off the facilities we lost in December 2017.
We are surprised about your comment that hardly anyone stays more than a night or two. The average stay of our guests in August on touring pitches is 5 days to one week. Our site is central to a lot locations but obviously in peak season the volume of traffic is considerably higher and this sometimes prolongs your journey time.

Well laid out site with generous size pitches with space between adjacent pitches. Access very easy off A 30. 4 toilet/shower cubicles in excellent condition, work in progress with a further 4. Regularly cleaned and maintained

    Disliked:

Entry on to site around a couple of twists in road in part i hope due to construction work and perimeter boarding which will be altered when construction work is completed.(pulling a 26' twin axle.... other American style RV's also got on site!)

Toilets could benefit from having hand drying facilities provided.
Entry by key, but no means of indicating unit in use apart from leaving key in lock when inside or spotting motion sensor lighting being activated

From the manager...

Thank you for this detailed review. The access will be easier once the construction works will have been completed.
We hope to see you again!
