What customers say
A peaceful spot with stunning views, great for sunsets. Friendly staff (especially Alison!) and excellent food at The Tartan Fox. Facilities generally clean but a bit dated; some found access tricky. Wi-Fi patchy for a few.

Disliked Dirty showers and toilets. No one there when we arrived to show us where to go the laundry was on a building site. Noisey drunk camp next to us kept my 2 disabled kids awake

Liked Easy to get to off the a30, pitch was great, easy to get into Newquay. Great views at pitch.
Disliked Reception wasn’t the easiest to find, couldn’t find any facilities to wash up plates and dishes.

From the manager: Hi
thankyou very for your review, the reception is the biggest building on the site, very hard to miss Bright Blue, and just along from reception is a washup place, where you can do dishes, and charge your phones etc , your friend got the welcome pack and was explained every think, and it is all marked out on the map where every think is, i am sorry he did not tell you, as you were arriving later than him. i am glad you liked the views, i do hope you got to see a sunset!!.

Liked This is our place away from home. Where to start…
First off Alison is such an incredible host. Asked in advance for a particular pitch and got it no issues.
Location for us is perfect right in the middle of Newquay and st Austell.
The views around the site are incredible and so relaxing and we got the most perfect sunset every night.
All facilities were clean throughout. Anytime I go Cornwall this will always be our stay.
Disliked This is a real nit pick and has nothing to do with the site. But the pub and some of its patrons were parking on pitches and then making some right noise one night.

Liked Very accommodating we had to change our dates, plus the pub on site is amazing

From the manager: Ah so glad you injoyed your stay and the pub, i do hope the dog settled in ok look forward to seeing you again!!
Probably would have been better in nice weather.Onsite pub expensive.
Fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site
Liked The view was amazing, but the wind and rain were shocking, and therefore I almost got dragged out of the door by the wind whenever I got out. Probably would have been lovely in good weather and had its own picnic table.
Disliked Facilities weren’t great. The motorhome/caravan area felt a bit like an afterthought.
I had to clean the toilet….. 💩
Didn’t realise the onsite pub was an award winning gastro pub, so very expensive. Nice if you like that sort of thing, but we ended up ordering a delivery after looking at the menu. 😅

yes the pub is very popular sorry it was not what you liked, if you left the site 100 yrds down the road is another pub, called the london inn!!, i hope you injoyed your take away.

Fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site
Liked This is a very nice, quiet site with great views across the Quintrell downs, amazing for watching the sunset in the evenings. The Tartan Fox on site was very hospitable and popular with visiting clientele. Food was of the finest quality and very tasty. The site is located very centrally giving great access to both sides of Cornwall, i would certainly stay here again.
Disliked No facilities to wash your dishes or bins to put your rubbish in.

From the manager: I am glad you liked your stay, there is bins all around the site, and there is facilities to wash your your dishes, which is in the laundrette, with fridges and freezers, and charging points. i am sorry if you missed this. hope to see you soon
