Looking for a peaceful stay on the edge of the South Downs National Park? Touch down at Kings Barn Camping. A small rural site on a working farm with a small stream and splendid scenery over the South Downs, this is really a rather relaxed escape that's also 10 minutes’ drive away from the coast.
If you’re thinking about putting your cooking skills to the test, there's a firepit/barbecue provided with every grassy pitch, each of which is large enough that you’ll have your own peaceful space.
Those who care about preserving the planet will surely love the fact that this site also plays its part in caring for the environment and aims for sustainability. As a nod to that, there are four composting loos on site (with little luxury touches so you won't miss the flush…)
When you want to wash off the scent of the campfire, there are two heated showers on site, and there's also a washing-up area provided. On top of that, wheelbarrows are available to help you ferry your kit between your vehicle and the pitch (parking is a short distance away).
Let the friendly faces point you in the direction of the South Downs Way and the Downs Link route, which are very nearby. When you fancy eating out, it’s a straightforward walk or short drive to shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs in Steyning or Bramber, both five minutes’ drive away. If you're after a bit more choice, there are lots of varied eats in Brighton, under half an hour’s drive away.
