Adventure time… sorted. At Whitemills Wake and Aqua Park, just outside Sandwich, you’ll be staying right next to the watersports centre – so getting to those outdoor activities could hardly be easier. As the name suggests, this place has a floating inflatable aqua park to try out, and a variety of wakeboarding activities including beginner lessons and sessions for more experienced wakeboarders. And that’s not all – you can also book ringo rides, open-water swims, SUP yoga sessions and sauna/cold plunge experiences. You’re going to need plenty of fuel to get you through all those activities, so it’s handy that the site is also home to a popular restaurant that serves up homemade meals for breakfast and lunch, alongside a good range of drinks. You can shelter indoors there or take your meals and drinks out onto the terrace to watch all the action on the lake. Come evening time, you’re welcome to light up a barbecue or firepit for a cosy evening on site, or you may like to stroll into Sandwich – it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the pubs and restaurants in the town centre. From Sandwich, you can also pick up train or bus connections for trips to nearby seaside resorts including Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs, or inland to Canterbury. With easy access from two A roads, this is a handy spot for all sorts of Kent days out, including beach days and zoo trips. All sorts of guests are welcome here, including families, couples, groups and those travelling with their dogs.

Liked Locatie ligt perfect nabij de ferry. Leuk waterpark naast de camping. Goed restaurant.

Disliked Toilet groepen waren ronduit smerig, vuile toiletten, douches en het washok gewoon niet te doen.

Liked We came with our 3 Grandsons, they absolutely loved it, the whole thing, so therefore we were very happy campers.
However it did work out rather expensive, just a thought we were there for a few days, it would be an idea to have a package deal for the water activities, instead of paying separately for each.

Disliked There was nothing to dislike.

Liked Very friendly. Good food. The owner or manger was a really nice guy who kept the bar open just for us to see the world cup final. The pitch was large, flat and easy to set up an awning

Disliked Some noise from the nearby road. Not too loud though.

Liked Pitch size and activities were a reasonable price and well run.
Food at the restaurant was really good and the service was great

Disliked Aqua park activities not available Monday and Tuesday although not advertised as such.
Restaurant closed early on these days also (5pm), luckily we had cooking facilities and food.
No grey water disposal available.
No washing up facilities.
Toilets and showers only cleaned once in 3 days and not well cleaned.
No play area for children.
Piches not marked out, we we not sure if we were within our pitch.

We’re sorry your stay didn’t meet your expectations.

Our Aqua Park operates on selected days, and these opening days are clearly advertised on our booking information before guests make a reservation. Our restaurant also closes earlier on Mondays and Tuesdays outside of peak periods, and these opening hours are published in advance.

We would also like to clarify a couple of points for future guests. Washing-up facilities are available within our shower block, and all camping pitches are clearly numbered to help guests identify their allocated pitch.

Our toilet and shower facilities are cleaned daily, and we’re disappointed to hear they did not meet the standards we expect during your visit. We will, however, review your comments with our team.

While we appreciate that not every campsite will suit everyone’s preferences, we always aim to ensure our facilities and services are accurately represented before booking. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best with your future camping trips.

Liked Only 20 min walk to sandwich, rail links and bus routes. Breakfast was lovely at the whitemills cafe. Very small site, was nice and clean.

Disliked Not enough hooks or shelves in shower cubicle and no shelves to put your washing bag by the sink.

Liked Sauberer Campingplatz mit nettem sehr hilfsbereitem Personal und toller Atmosphäre. In unmittelbarer Nähe ist ein kleiner Laden mit Obst und Gemüse. Das Restaurant hat tolle Speisen und der Wasserpark ist grandios! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Disliked Die Straße in unmittelbarer Nähe ist gerade im Sommer sehr laut. Wer mit Ohropacks schlafen kann, hat aber kaum Probleme.
Ein Spielplatz außerhalb des Wasserparkes der immer genutzt werden kann, wäre toll!

Well, good news: at Wingham Wildlife Park (five minutes’ drive), you can see them all, plus colourful birds and creepy crawlies. There’s also a Dinosaur Park, with more than 20 prehistoric creatures. Ramsgate (15 minutes) has a sandy beach and the Royal Harbour, where vessels are often decorated with fairy lights, making for a pretty sight after dark. The Ramsgate Tunnels, carved underground in the 1930s, became an air-raid shelter during World War II, and today they run guided tours, plus events from vintage dances to festive markets. Besides a wide sandy beach with a tidal pool and a waterfront sauna, Margate (20 minutes) is home to Dreamland, an amusement park with vintage rides and events including big-name concerts. The rotating art exhibitions at Turner Contemporary are always worth a look.

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
The site will send you further check-in information 2 day(s) before your arrival.
Units will be allocated on arrival.
