  • Adults-only pitches on an 80-acre Kent working farm
  • A 10-minute drive from Leeds Castle; vineyard 15 minutes away
  • Off-grid site with beef, lamb, pork and eggs all for sale
Off-grid, surrounded by gorgeously green views over Kent countryside and in a quiet adults-only setting… folk seeking a properly restful rural time have hit on a royally fine spot at adults-only Kings Oak Farm. This is a splendidly spacious site, part of a working farm that extends out over 80 acres with huge, flat grass pitches accessed via coded gates and surrounded by yet more farmland. Folk travelling here have access to facilities including a toilet and shower block (with separate loos and showers elsewhere), fresh water points and a chemical waste disposal point (for cassettes only – not suitable as a motorhome drop point). Friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome but they'll need to be kept on a lead at all times; there’s also the chance to book a farm tour and get to know some of the resident animals while you’re on site. The creatures in question are the rare-breed cattle and sheep that graze in the surrounding fields; home-reared beef and lamb, plus local pork sausages, bacon and eggs can all be bought on site. Sound like just the thing for a barbecue? Fine plan – gas-powered grills are permitted as long as they’re kept off ground (subject to weather conditions). Any other bits you need to finish your meal can be picked up at shops in Sutton Valence or Headcorn, both within a 10-minute drive (you might also like to consider sticking around for pub dinners or a cuppa in the cafés of either village too). Please note that the use of drones is not permitted at this site.

Electric grass pitch (adults only)

Liked Wow, what a little gem of a find. We arrived Sunday 18/05/25 was greeted by Guy who was just excellent, funny, friendly & extremely helpful.
The views of the country side & the peace & quiet is just what to expect from this farm. Our pitch was overlooking the cows and in the distance were sheep & the highland cows.
On going works converting a barn into showers/ toilets/kitchen which I can only imagine it will be stunning when completed.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning to it's sister site Round Oak on July.
Again a big shout out to Guy, keep up your good work.

Disliked Nothing to dislike!

Electric grass pitch (adults only)

Liked We had such a great weekend staying at King's Oak. Perfect, quiet countryside pitch near to the cows. We visited the sister farm and the bar area is lovely, we even got up close to some orphan lambs, calves and more cows. The meat from their shop was delicious in the BBQ. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to Guy and Martin for being so helpful and giving us some giggles!

Friendly staff, good welcome invitation and a secure site.

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (adults only)

Liked The views are lovely and the sound of the animals in the distance are soothing.

Disliked The one small shower and toilet unit is inadequate when there are campers Motorhomes vans and tents on site. Too many people for one toilet.
We chose this site as it advertises being a rare breeds farm with a shop, bar hard standing for Motorhomes. It isn’t. Its sister site 4 miles up the road is. I was looking forward to seeing highland cows… but at £80 per person for a farm tour to pet the animals that is way out of budget. We asked to buy the bacon sausage and eggs they advertise but only the sausages were available. We ordered some and they never arrived. We drove to the next farm up the road and bought some. Disappointing site it advertises too much and delivers too little. If they sold it as a basic site it would be ok, except for the one toilet on site.

Beautiful site with lovely views, nice and secure, enjoyed our times chatting…

Electric grass pitch (adults only)

Liked We stayed for our first time at Kings Oak this weekend (26-28 July) with our three young dogs. It was a gift from our sons so we had no choice in the selection of campsite. We had such a wonderful, quiet and relaxed stay… lovely view, watching the cows and hot air balloons.
The site manager Guy, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the local area, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely person. Large level pitch… perfect for setting up.
We will definitely go back for another visit.

Disliked Nothing to dislike

From the manager: You sure it was Guy and not me after going on a recent public relations course!
Well done thanks for review, look forward to seeing you again.

Local attractions

Castles and gardens first, as Kent is of course famed throughout the land for both: spectacular Leeds Castle is three miles from the farm; Sissinghurst Castle Garden (one of the best known in England) 11 miles away, and 14th-century Penshurst Place is within 25 miles near Tonbridge. Bedgebury National Pinetum is about 35 minutes' drive away. Vineyards? Find English wine six miles away at Staplehurst, and slightly further afield at Biddenden (eight miles) and Tenterden (13 miles miles). Kent has over 50 vineyards and a similar soil to the Champagne region of France, so whatever flavour of vino you favour, you'll likely find a bottle to uncork around here. Options within a 45-minute drive include the maritime museum of Chatham Historic Dockyard, the cathedral city of Canterbury, and the Kent & East Sussex Railway, from Tenterden to Bodiam Castle 10 and a half miles away. Prefer to stick closer to him? Perhaps play a round at the golf course next door to the farm. If you do like to be beside the seaside, sands and waters are at Swale, Sheerness, Dymchurch and Whitstable, all around 30-40 minutes' drive away; do stop off at the last to sample some famed Whitstable oysters (if you're around in summer, the Whitstable Oyster Festival is held over a weekend every July).
