  • Peaceful adults-only rural Kent site 10 minutes' drive from Tenterden
  • A 25-minute drive to Rye; several vineyards close by for tours
  • Pétanque court and firepit grates on site; local pub 10 minutes' walk
When you stay at Field End Campsite, you’ll be sharing the space with the chickens and ducks that live here, and just a handful of other guests… but no kids, as this Kent site is an adults-only setup that’s all about letting the grownups have a bit of chillout time. This rural location (about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford) is a particularly fine spot for a break if you’re into fishing – there’s a fishery next door, with a couple more within a 15-minute walk/five-minute drive. Meanwhile, cyclists can pedal along quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to get out for a walk nearby (and you’ll be welcome to bring your dog along for a Kent countryside walk too…). Only planning to walk as far as the pub? That shouldn’t take long, as the nearest is only about 10 minutes away on foot. There are four more pubs within a five-minute drive if you’d like to mix things up a bit, or you could pick up supplies at the farm shop just outside Bethersden (five minutes’ drive) and get your barbecue going back at base. There’s also a butcher and grocery shop in the village, with bigger supermarkets in Tenterden (10 minutes). Tenterden also has some lovely cafés and a good range of shops on its high street. Facilities on site include a washing-up area, toilets, showers and a solar-powered shower for those who are brave enough. There's also a pétanque court on site. Each pitch has its own grate for campfires; logs, kindling and firelighters are available to buy from the site. If you need to freeze ice packs or blocks, ask the team for access to the freezer.

Liked Super welcome as soon as your through the secure gate, information was very good and then onto the quaint pitches. It's a really well thought out venue with only 7 pitches for adults only. Only 2 toilets, showers but spotless and enough, plenty of communal areas and each pitch has a fire pit and very reasonable cost if you require wood. Very quiet and only nature keeping you awake and the pig and sty pub although a bit pricy dies provide a very opulent choice. Great site and lovely people. Thanks 😊

Toby electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely, really well-kept site and very friendly, helpful owner. We only stayed one night to break the journey en-route to Le Shuttle so didn't use all the facilities. We could see that it catered for all needs though and is very secure behind a controlled set of gates. The owner's family of friendly Bernese Mountain Dogs is an added bonus! The Pig and Sty pub is within easy walking distance and serves good food at a reasonable price.

Toby electric grass pitch

Liked It was a gem of a find. The owners are so welcoming. A pretty little site, with thought out little extras especially for the those in tents. The bathrooms were thought out by a woman from the feel of it. Everything I moan about, Karen must have heard me and put it in. Plenty of hooks. The bench was as the right height for those of us with arthritic hips and the shower curtain protected your clothing from the spray of the shower head. The pitches were large and had flowered boxed boarders. Lovely pergola and patio area for enjoyment and relaxation.

Disliked Only 1 little thing. The bathroom on the right had a lock that needs sorting. A quick fix. Some of the wood needs chiselling out deeper for the lock to slide over properly.

From the manager: Thank you for a fabulous review. I certainly had a lot of input regarding the whole site...!
Ive put the lock on our 'Things to do' list. Thank you.

Thank you for a great review. So glad you enjoyed your stay.
I do walk around the site to look for dogie leavings, when my dogs have been out. So sorry you had to experience that.

Toby electric grass pitch

Liked What a wonderful little site. The pitches are spacious and all separated. The owners are soo lovely, friendly and we loved their gorgeous Bernese Mountain dogs. The site is so immaculate and well thought out, lovely outdoor areas to sit, games for everyone to play, and we all had a fire pit to use. The toilet/showers are beautiful with everything you need. The nearest pub is a 15 minute walk and has a lovely big garden. It is one of the best sites I have ever been to and will definitely be back.

Disliked Absolutely nothing to dislike at all.

Toby electric grass pitch

Liked Super friendly owners, with clear instructions upon arrival. Wide and spacious pitches and a beautiful quaint and cosy site. Smaller than the usual but this is NOT a negative, we loved the privacy and cosyness but you can also make friends and chat if you wanted to! Facilities are clean and spacious, communal areas are a lovely added touch, which included boules area and badminton as well as a cute gnome garden. Only a small number of pitches so this means you never have to wait for facilities and it never feels cramped or overcrowded even when at fall capacity. Perfect wifi. Every pitch has their own fire pit/bbq. All the little added touches make a huge difference!

Karen was super helpful and her dogs are lovely. So peaceful and quiet, good pubs nearby - Pig and Sty round the corner is a lovely dinner too! Close to Ashford and Tenterden. We will definitely be rebooking thanks so much!

Disliked Can’t fault any of it.
