  • Peaceful adults-only rural Kent site 10 minutes' drive from Tenterden
  • A 25-minute drive to Rye; several vineyards close by for tours
  • Pétanque court and firepit grates on site; local pub 10 minutes' walk
When you stay at Field End Campsite, you’ll be sharing the space with the chickens and ducks that live here, and just a handful of other guests… but no kids, as this Kent site is an adults-only setup that’s all about letting the grownups have a bit of chillout time. This rural location (about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford) is a particularly fine spot for a break if you’re into fishing – there’s a fishery next door, with a couple more within a 15-minute walk/five-minute drive. Meanwhile, cyclists can pedal along quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to get out for a walk nearby (and you’ll be welcome to bring your dog along for a Kent countryside walk too…). Only planning to walk as far as the pub? That shouldn’t take long, as the nearest is only about 10 minutes away on foot. There are four more pubs within a five-minute drive if you’d like to mix things up a bit, or you could pick up supplies at the farm shop just outside Bethersden (five minutes’ drive) and get your barbecue going back at base. There’s also a butcher and grocery shop in the village, with bigger supermarkets in Tenterden (10 minutes). Tenterden also has some lovely cafés and a good range of shops on its high street. Facilities on site include a washing-up area, toilets, showers and a solar-powered shower for those who are brave enough. There's also a pétanque court on site. Each pitch has its own grate for campfires; logs, kindling and firelighters are available to buy from the site. If you need to freeze ice packs or blocks, ask the team for access to the freezer.

What customers say

A small, peaceful, adults-only site with neat, roomy spots. Owners Karen & Richard get rave reviews for being super friendly and helpful. Facilities are spotless and well-equipped. Thoughtful extras like fire pits and free eggs are a hit. Gated entry adds security. A few mention road noise/overgrown paths nearby, but most loved it and want to come back.

Liked It’s a lovely small campsite, only 7 pitches so nice and quiet. It’s set out beautifully, with little communal areas if you want to use those. It’s so pretty and also super clean - I felt like I was in a campsite retreat! Great location, we walked to the pub most days and we walked to the bus stop to get the bus to Ashford to visit the Curious Brewery and ashford outlet. It a beautiful part of Kent.

Toby powered grass site

Liked We had a fantastic time at Field End Camping and couldn’t have asked for a better experience or vibe. Wash up/Showers/WC were great and spacious, we had our own buzzer to enter the site which was v convenient, space for outside dining and games, animal friendly, near many fun activities such as vineyards and long walks. The owner Karen is wonderful too and so welcoming.

Liked Wat een vriendelijke en gemoedelijke ontvangst! De camping is klein maar erg sfeervol. Leuke details als een houten tafel waar je wordt uitgenodigd je naam op te schrijven en de mededeling bij het toilet 😄

Toby powered grass site

Liked 2nd time of us coming and can’t wait to come back next year!
You can’t go wrong with this campsite! Small site with everything u need. Decent showers and washing up area. Always kept clean and tidy. Karen is just adorable, she loves a chat and and a real fuss over the doggies, she really makes you feel relaxed and is on hand if u you need anything. Good size bbq and fire pit free on ur pitch and you can buy wood for a small fee.
Our friends joined us for a couple of days so we had dinner in the communal area and played giant connect 4 with a glass of wine or 3!
We camped for 8 days but wished we booked longer as we didn’t want to leave!
Look forward to returning next year! Thank you

Toby powered grass site

Liked Everything.
We were greeted by Karen on arrival who made us feel welcomed instantly. She gave us a printout with lots of handy info including great places to eat nearby. All pitches are supplied with a firepit/bbq and you can purchase wood at a really reasonable price too.
The showers are so spacious, clean, tidy and most importantly hot.
There's a seating area to enjoy with an array of games you can try. A couple of picnic benches which guests sign their names on is such a lovely touch. The layout of the pitches ensures you're not waking up to someone pitched up in front of you.
There's a washing up area, with a food waste bin plus recycling and general rubbish bins too.
No extra charges for electric hookup.
The site is gated so really secure, you're given a fob to come and go as you please.
Overall this site was so much more than we expected. We came as strangers and left as friends!
