  • Peaceful adults-only rural Kent site 10 minutes' drive from Tenterden
  • A 25-minute drive to Rye; several vineyards close by for tours
  • Pétanque court and firepit grates on site; local pub 10 minutes' walk
When you stay at Field End Campsite, you’ll be sharing the space with the chickens and ducks that live here, and just a handful of other guests… but no kids, as this Kent site is an adults-only setup that’s all about letting the grownups have a bit of chillout time. This rural location (about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford) is a particularly fine spot for a break if you’re into fishing – there’s a fishery next door, with a couple more within a 15-minute walk/five-minute drive. Meanwhile, cyclists can pedal along quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to get out for a walk nearby (and you’ll be welcome to bring your dog along for a Kent countryside walk too…). Only planning to walk as far as the pub? That shouldn’t take long, as the nearest is only about 10 minutes away on foot. There are four more pubs within a five-minute drive if you’d like to mix things up a bit, or you could pick up supplies at the farm shop just outside Bethersden (five minutes’ drive) and get your barbecue going back at base. There’s also a butcher and grocery shop in the village, with bigger supermarkets in Tenterden (10 minutes). Tenterden also has some lovely cafés and a good range of shops on its high street. Facilities on site include a washing-up area, toilets, showers and a solar-powered shower for those who are brave enough. There's also a pétanque court on site. Each pitch has its own grate for campfires; logs, kindling and firelighters are available to buy from the site. If you need to freeze ice packs or blocks, ask the team for access to the freezer.

Liked Very nice small campsite with only 7 well-equipped flat pitches with fire pits. Good size plots ensuring. Plenty of space around with activities available- boules, games, etc.
Karen very welcoming and friendly owner. Site is well maintained and clean with 2 ducks and a few chickens. Still enjoying my last eggs ! We stayed for 1 night but will be back. Thoroughly enjoyed our short but relaxing stay with walks around.

Toby powered grass campsite

Liked If you want a small, peaceful, adult only site then this is a little gem. Only has a few pitches but they are generous in size (named after one of the owner's dogs). Karen was lovely, very welcoming - particularly to our 2 doggos! Everything was very relaxed and chilled. The toilet/showers were spotless with plenty of room and the showers were hot. There are garden games to play and a communal seating area. Each pitch has a fire pit but it was decided given the current drought that it was probably a good idea not to use it.

Disliked Nothing, would love to stay again.

Toby powered grass campsite

Liked Very accommodating, friendly and welcoming.
Very clean campsite , large toilet and shower which was fantastic. Loved the little ducks and cheeky chickens.

Disliked One tiny little thing , could do with a handrail to the left of the toilet to assist with getting up.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for leaving a lovely review. The handrail in the toilet is a good idea.
