What customers say
Quiet, adults-only site, praised for cleanliness & thoughtful touches. Friendly owners, Karen & Richard, and well-kept facilities are highlights. Good pitch sizes, fire pits, games. Lane can be tight for caravans, Wi-Fi spotty. Overall: highly recommended, guests want to return.

Lovely hostess. Great site.
Toby powered grass campsite
Liked Friendly welcome, location, amenities and it’s dog friendly!
Disliked One point deducted for the England flag. Looked like it’d been up awhile so not for the footie. In current climate a bit of a concern.

Great peaceful retreat ☀️🏕️
Toby powered grass campsite
Liked Such a small peaceful campsite! Owners were really lovely friendly. Showers and toilets clean and grounds kept lovely. We bought some eggs from their chickens and ducks which was lovely for breakfast as well as using the provided fire pits. We walked the 10 minutes up the lane to The Pig and Sty but not loads else to do within walking distance so would need get out in the car or van. Lots of garden games to use if wanted and lots of choice for additional seating around the site. A variety of different birds can be heard from the site.
Disliked Karen did inform us the WiFi wasn't great when we arrived and we were unable to connect during the stay. No biggy but just to note.
Not a dislike but would be great to show where the local footpaths are on a notice board within the site are and where the paths lead for guests who fancied a walk a bit further than the pub!

From the manager: Thank you for leaving a great review. Im glad you enjoyed the eggs!
There are lots of footpaths around the site, although some are not that well kept. A footpath app is the best way to find them.

We have just recently returned from…
Toby powered grass campsite
Liked We have just recently returned from our second visit to Field End and would like to say it was just as enjoyable as the first. It's a lovely, small, idyllic campsite (adults only!) with a high hedge and electronic gates. Karen and Richard are the perfect hosts.
The site itself is well maintained. The grass is cut short and the facilities are spotless. There are two rooms, each with a shower and toilet.
The site itself is next to a narrow road, that leads to the A28. Turning left takes you to Tenterden or right will take you to Ashford. There are several small villages to explore in the vicinity or travel to Rye and Winchelsea.
All in all, a great site to stay at and we will be returning again to see Karen, Richard and the dogs.

Nice site - once you're in!
Toby powered grass campsite
Liked Spacious site with only 7 pitches available. Showers/ toilets were always clean.
Disliked It took a while to be admitted on to the site - nobody heard the doorbell on the gate and nobody answered the two phone lines. Luckily somebody arrived to visit some other campers and we were able to get in with them!
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for leaving a review. I'm sorry the admittance took time when you arrived, its most unusual. I was feeding my dogs and the others didnt hear the bell. Apologies again.

Toby powered grass campsite
Liked What a great little site. It's small and quaint and the owner Karen is absolutely lovely. She even had a paddling pool for our dog and fresh eggs to purchase from her chickens and ducks. Would highly recommend this site and will be back when we are back down south.

We will return.
Toby powered grass campsite
Liked Richard and Karen gave us a great welcome, the site is level and spacious with good amenities.
Disliked Access with a caravan is a bit tight down the lane.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a great review.
I also find the lane a bit tight with a caravan, but tell that to the curtain-sided lorries that think its OK, even though we ask them not to drive down our road.

Good small site and very quiet
Toby powered grass campsite
Liked The location is great with a 15-20 minute walk along very quiet roads to a nice pub that serves food.
Friendly owner and well maintained site with clean toilets and shower.
Reasonable prices
Disliked It didn't really affect us much (as we mainly ate in the pub) but there are no washing up facilities
There is also no wifi and phone signal was weak but it wasn't a big problem for us
