When you stay at Field End Campsite, you’ll be sharing the space with the chickens and ducks that live here, and just a handful of other guests… but no kids, as this Kent site is adults-only and all about letting the grownups have a bit of chillout time. Your well-behaved dogs are welcome here and even have their own paddling pool if the weather is too hot; owner Karen is a crazy dog lover and trainer who insists on making a fuss of every dog that visits. This rural location (about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford) is a particularly fine spot for a break if you’re into fishing – there’s a fishery next door, with a couple more within a 15-minute walk/five-minute drive. Meanwhile, cyclists can pedal along quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to get out for a walk nearby. Only planning to walk as far as the pub? That shouldn’t take long, as the nearest is only about 10 minutes away on foot. There are four more pubs within a five-minute drive if you’d like to mix things up a bit, or you could pick up supplies at the farm shop just outside Bethersden (five minutes’ drive) and get your barbecue going back at base. There’s also a butcher and grocery shop in the village, with bigger supermarkets in Tenterden (10 minutes). Tenterden also has some lovely cafés and a good range of shops on its high street. Facilities on site include a washing-up area, toilets, showers and a solar-powered shower for those who are brave enough. Each pitch has its own firepit, which doubles as a barbecue; logs, kindling, firelighters and charcoal are available to buy on site. There is also a small fridge and freezer for guests to use and a pétanque court on site.

Disliked Irresponsible dog owners not picking up their dogs mess , several deposits all over the pétanque/ games area was off putting.

Liked Great showers and toilets. Washing up area clean and hot water. Nice communal facilities, fire pits available and the games under the awning were great. Family and friends made to feel welcome (by prior arrangement)

From the manager: It does say that we only have 6 pitches, so it will be a small site. We have had nothing but praise for our toilets. The size, and the fact that they are toilet and shower together. Obviously, Field End does not suit everyone.

Liked Very nice small campsite with only 7 well-equipped flat pitches with fire pits. Good size plots ensuring. Plenty of space around with activities available- boules, games, etc.
Karen very welcoming and friendly owner. Site is well maintained and clean with 2 ducks and a few chickens. Still enjoying my last eggs ! We stayed for 1 night but will be back. Thoroughly enjoyed our short but relaxing stay with walks around.
