General
- Family-friendly Hampshire countryside site six miles from Petersfield
- Within easy reach of both London and the south coast
- Converted bus serves pizzas and drinks on high-season weekends
As little environmental impact as poss is the name of the game at Hampshire's Cedar Valley: this is a simple site for those who like camping deep in countryside but who still like their comforts such as showers, toilets and wash basins.
Cedar Valley is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, set deep in scenic Hampshire countryside but within easy reach of both London and the south coast. The South Downs Way is nearby for hikes, and guests are welcome to walk the farm track to pick up footpaths leading to East Meon, where two pubs await (maps are around on site to stop you going astray en route).
Pitches at Cedar Valley are spread across two fields on the Bereleigh Estate; guests are welcome to roam around and pick their own personal perfect pitch (clustering with others or settling in a quiet corner? Up to you…) There's also a designated mown area where kids can play football, fly kites and generally muck around to their little hearts' content: you might find they don't want to leave…
This site aims to have as little impact on the immediate environment as possible, but it does have those creature comforts like hot gas-powered showers, flushing loos and hot water washing-up areas. Barbecues and campfires are permitted to allow you to live that proper outdoorsy lifestyle, but there's also a treat in store on high-season weekends, when double decker bus Boycie opens up to serve wood-fired pizzas, nachos and a selection of local beers, ciders and wines.
Please note that this is not a party site, and not suitable for large group bookings.

Local attractions
Get out via two wheels: several decent bike tracks are on the estate itself or you can pedal off around the area's many lanes and bike routes. A good run is to Petersfield, six miles away, to stock up on armfuls of fresh produce at the Wednesday and Saturday markets.
If trotting's more your thing, ask the Cedar Valley team about the pony rides available in the surrounding countryside: both experienced and amateur riders can take their pick from three-hour rides through first-class woodland, or around the area's cross-country course. If you prefer your equine animals at a speedy distance, the racecourse at Goodwood is about half an hour's drive away.
More of a foot-based wanderer? The Cedar Valley team has mapped out many walks in the area so you can wander off to see where your feet might take you. The South Downs Way is close by: try the walk from Petersfield to Cocking, via Nursted Copse and Harting Down.
