Blackberry Mound bell tent (basic, five person)
Liked: Really friendly staff and we love the little woodland area
Disliked: All the toilets were overflowing and unusable. We only said one night but couldn't imagine staying more than one. We go rustic camping a lot but toilets were overflowing with urine and the other when we arrived at 3pm and urine on all over the flooring with no checks/ cleaning even when we left at 11. Cafes and shops 15 minutes away so ran to there to use the facilities.

Liked: Loved the big pitches and all the animals. Kids had a wonderful time even in the rain running around the woodland. Liked the freedom and eco vibe that the campsite gave.
Disliked: It would be better if there were more toilets and showers on site.

Blackberry Mound bell tent (basic, five person)
Liked: Remote feeling and hospitality
Disliked: Instructions to find the site we booked could be clearer, but a phone call to the team sorted it so a minor thing really.

Liked: Lovely communal areas, albeit in need of maintenance.
Fire kindling and logs available to purchase for a tenner (should last just over a couple of hours).
Activities on site: axe throwing, archery and target practice (additional charges apply).
Chickens, bunnies and pigs kept on site (no petting).
Fresh drinking water available to refill water containers.
Owners are friendly and very helpful.
As advertised, the entire site does not have any electrical outputs.
Gas canisters available for purchase on site.
Portable toilet facilities only. Two wooden cubicle enclosed chemical/compost toilets.
Stainless steel pots are available to borrow from communal areas (bring your own).
Pillows not available (bring your own).
It gets quite cold at night (even on a sunny day), make sure to bring appropriate camping gear and thermal clothes.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Quirky site. Field and woodland. Friendly managers. Basic rustic shower with a camping loo, a compost loo and standard .portaloo.
Good location for Winchester and Marwell Zoo. Lots of woodland birds. Fields surrounding with horses Mini hairy pigs goats and a couple of rabbits and a chicken coop.
Disliked: Not well signposted where camp entrance was. 4 sets of gates to open and close each time you want to go out of camp with your car. Understand to keep animals safe but they weren't in the bit where some gates were.
Am used to rustic camping but water points were always well marked.
No idea where the water tap was..luckily there was another camper who told me. It was a walk through the woods and not in the field. Compost loo soon filled up and was unusable. The seat was very high and bare wood scratched my arse!
Was disappointed there was no bushcraft sessions.
It's a shame because it's a nice site..at least 1 camper said they wouldn't return due to fed up no signage where water was..too far away..only 1 tap that seemed to also supply the 1 shower when it worked. In 5 days I never got to use it due to either not working or someone in it. That also meant couldn't use the nicest loo as it was in the same stall.
I think most problems could be solved with good signage.. doesn't need to be huge..little wooden ones etc.. a way to water..a sign saying the big fire pit and shack kitchen area was communal. Most people stayed away as thought it belonged to the nearby shepherd hut.
There's nothing majorly bad about this place..theyc3 worked hard to build it up so far.. but the lots of little niggles added up.

George's shepherd's hut (woodland)
Liked: Peaceful surroundings right in the middle of woodland. All the wildflowers. Hot tub which was setup for us. How cosy and romantic the Shepherds hut was with bedding, gas heater blankets, torch and candles. The outdoor kitchen was equipped with tea/coffee/milk and a kettle/stove with gas. Very close drop toilets which were clean and had toilet paper. We did the Shawford Down loop walk which was so varied and exactly what we were looking for then we treated ourselves to a great meal at Fisher’s Pond pub a couple of minutes drive away. Heard owls at night and woken with the bird chorus with woodpeckers. It was exactly what we were looking for to have a break.
Disliked: It was a little tricky to contact when I first made the booking months ago but they were really available just before and for the duration of our stay with staff on site checking we were ok.
