Park Farm Caravan and Camping: Sunflowers on site

General

  • Spacious working farm site on the Kent and East Sussex border
  • Half an hour’s drive from Camber Sands
  • Campfires, pick-your-own pitches and adventure playground

Pitch up at Park Farm Caravan and Camping for pitchside campfires galore plus piles of spectacular wide open space around which to cycle, fly kites and let the kids (and dogs) run wild.

Set on a working farm in a peaceful rural spot on the border between Kent and East Sussex, this site is bordered by a little river and surrounded by miles upon miles of handsome countryside; for days out off site, the swell little seaside resort of Camber Sands is a handy half an hour’s drive away, and attractions like the Kent and Sussex Railway, Bodiam Castle and Bedgebury Pinetum are within a short drive too.

Back at base, there’s heaps of stuff to keep guests of all ages amply amused all day long, like free fishing into the neighbouring river direct from the site. For kids there’s a partially fenced adventure playground with a trim trail, a play fort and a big slide for small folk to let off steam at. For rainy day, the open-sided barn is furnished with more fun-based bits, like a seesaw and other kit and games.

When peckish or thirsty head over to the site’s so-called ‘barn on wheels’ – out of its hatch are served drinks and locally sourced produce. Otherwise, head to the neighbouring pub for a feed or an afternoon pint of guest ale.

After a feed, it’s a splendid idea to have an amble around the farm to goggle at its resident cows, sheep, donkeys and horses. The site owners actively maintain natural habitats to keep local wildlife happy, so while out and walking around one might well catch sight of some native critters too, from deer, barn owls and lots of other bird species to plenty of butterflies and insects.

Please note

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, customers can amend their dates with the campsite/holiday park free of charge for all stays up to, and including, 31/12/2021.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Lots to see and do nearby.
    Ability to have campfires.

    Disliked:

Only cold water to wash hands after going to the toilet.
(This was exacerbated by power cuts I believe)
Litter in the play area - better by the end of our trip.

    Hi camping lovers,
If you look for a kid's friendly campsite, Park Farm Caravan and Camping is an optimal solution. It's easily accessible by car. The playground is awesome.

Bodiam Castle, a highlight destination in the surrounding, is just two miles far. The trail to the castle goes round a creek, which a nice walk overall.

Just be aware of the weak mobile/data signal on the site. I don´t consider this matter as a "disliking". It can be even a great option to have a digital detox during the holidays :)).

The loud drum & bass music, and they didn’t call ahead to let us know they had no power on site - and no toilets!

From the manager...

Hi,
We did have a security team onsite during your stay, and ask that if there is any disturbance the team are called (the number is sown on the welcome pack) so that they can resolve any issue quickly. Although there was a rare power cut (which was out of our control and happened after your arrival), we resolved the issue as soon as possible and brought in generators in the meantime. At no time were there no toilets available on the campsite. Great that you enjoyed the ability to have a camp fire though.

For a spot of local history, visit National Trust properties like Sissinghurst Castle, Cranbrook, Smallhythe Place, Scotney Castle and Batemans; should you instead fancy being ferried around, get all aboard at Bodiam for the Kent and East Sussex Railway.
