  • Peaceful family-run park on manor estate with fishing and horse riding
  • Cuckoo Trail walking and cycling two minutes' drive away
  • Additional toilet block with disabled room and underfloor heating
What a handsome site – and what a handy location. Have yourself a holiday at Horam Manor Country Park in East Sussex for a peaceful and roomy setting as well as proximity to walking and biking paths, fishing, horse riding, tennis and golf – and quite a bit more on and off site. A family-run and friendly park on a manor estate, Horam Manor is only a couple of minutes by car from the Cuckoo Trail, the scenic 14-mile path trail along the old Cuckoo Line railway track from Heathfield to Eastbourne Park. Previous guests have esteemed this site most highly for the friendly and helpful approach of its family team, its modern and immaculately kept amenities, and its range of activities and leisure facilities for guests young and old. Fishing, woodland walks, nature trails and horse riding are available around the estate; and play areas are on site and in the adjacent village. The friendly welcome extends to family friends too, with a dog walking area close by and a dog shower and dog water bowls thoughtfully added around the grounds. As you might expect, the amenities are also excellently thought out: there are two toilet blocks (one of which has underfloor heating), spacious showers, private wash cubicles and a fully equipped disabled room. A laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, both coin-operated, is also available to guests. Fires of any kind are not permitted, but barbecues are welcome as long as they're kept off the grass (the site supplies bricks just for this purpose). The park has a small grocery shop selling basics such as milk, sweets, ice creams and drinks; it also stocks local produce such as jams. More shops and a pub are in Horam, a few minutes' stroll away. And if you're here for the seaside, beaches at Eastbourne and Lewes are within half an hour; Brighton is within 45 minutes and famed seaside towns such as Rye and Hastings are 30 to 45 minutes from the site. Local buses serve all major towns in the area.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Perfect position near horam and the cuckoo trail, lovely lakes and friendly site staff.

Disliked: Ground unlevel so difficult to level the motorhome. No wifi, local cafe/bar restaurant nice but only open until 5pm

From the manager: Hi Neil. Many thanks for staying with us and for the review, we value them all!. It's always going to be challenging to find a good motorhome pitch (especially with electric) at such late notice prior to a Bank Holiday! Fortunately, we were able to move you to a more suitably level pitch. We do not promote wifi as available across the site, so assume that guests take that into account when booking with us. We do, however, find it hard to accept criticisms of the park for issues that the park has no control over; namely the opening hours of the adjacent cafe / bar. That's surely an issue to raise in a review on their website. Thanks again for the review, and we hope that we see you again with us soon! T&D and the Team

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The team that run the site are so welcoming and friendly show an interest in how things are going with your trip definitely felt more guest than customer. The site very well maintained very good facilities available, spacious pitch very quite but only short distance to main road so great access, short walk (5 mins) to bus stop Tonbridge Wells to Eastbourne route. We had a lovely relaxing time.

From the manager: Hi Mick. Thank you so much for your detailed review. We are frequently asked about bus links close to / from the site so it's good to see a guest mention them! As a team, we're also very happy to hear that we are attentive to our guests without being intrusive. Glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back with us soon! Cheers T&D and the Team

From the manager: Hi Campers. Thanks for reviewing our site. We always welcome honest reviews. They are how we gauge whether our performance and facilities are meeting expectation and requirement. Naturally, we are always disappointed when guests do not enjoy their stay with us, especially when they have visited within the previous 2 weeks and then re-book again so quickly. This tells us that the site was indeed somewhere you wanted to be. As always, we try to ensure our guests are enjoying their stay while they are with us with constant roving patrols. Unfortunately, unless guests report their disappointments to us, we cannot address their issues which is sadly the case here, though we were did amend both your bookings through Pitchup (after your bookings had been made) to place you in your preferred location close to the services rather than further away. To clarify though, none of our seasonal guests, who are required to follow the same park rules as our touring guests, have dogs. Thanks again for the review. T&D and the Team
