  • Peaceful family-run park on manor estate with fishing and horse riding
  • Cuckoo Trail walking and cycling two minutes' drive away
  • Additional toilet block with disabled room and underfloor heating
What a handsome site – and what a handy location. Have yourself a holiday at Horam Manor Country Park in East Sussex for a peaceful and roomy setting as well as proximity to walking and biking paths, fishing, horse riding, tennis and golf – and quite a bit more on and off site. A family-run and friendly park on a manor estate, Horam Manor is only a couple of minutes by car from the Cuckoo Trail, the scenic 14-mile path trail along the old Cuckoo Line railway track from Heathfield to Eastbourne Park. Previous guests have esteemed this site most highly for the friendly and helpful approach of its family team, its modern and immaculately kept amenities, and its range of activities and leisure facilities for guests young and old. Fishing, woodland walks, nature trails and horse riding are available around the estate; and play areas are on site and in the adjacent village. The friendly welcome extends to family friends too, with a dog walking area close by and a dog shower and dog water bowls thoughtfully added around the grounds. As you might expect, the amenities are also excellently thought out: there are two toilet blocks (one of which has underfloor heating), spacious showers, private wash cubicles and a fully equipped disabled room. A laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, both coin-operated, is also available to guests. The park has a small grocery shop selling basics such as milk, sweets, ice creams and drinks; it also stocks local produce such as jams. More shops and a pub are in Horam, a few minutes' stroll away. And if you're here for the seaside, beaches at Eastbourne and Lewes are within half an hour; Brighton is within 45 minutes and famed seaside towns such as Rye and Hastings are 30 to 45 minutes from the site. Local buses serve all major towns in the area.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The pitch was well maintained and the water and electric point were close and accessible. The location was close to the cukoo trail and there is a nice pub close by, also local amenities and shops all within walking distance

Disliked: The facilities are all very dated and are a bit damp and cold. But were generally clean. The drinking (one tap in a phone box) water is heavily chlorinated and so we had to buy bottled water to drink and cook.

From the manager: Hi Camper. We welcome all reviews, its how we hope to improve the services to our customers. Our top field facilities are "dated" and are on our project list for the off-season. There needs to be some clarification on arrival re the drinking tap in the Phone Box. It is a direct feed from the water mains, and is fed from the same source as the on-pitch water taps. In fact, all of the publicly accessible cold taps are mains fed. Different counties have different mains water supply companies, and it may be that your home mains supply is treated differently from the East Sussex supply, which could account for the difference in taste. Sadly, were the weather to be "normal", July would have brought warmer ambient weather that would have taken away the "cold and damp" feel that actually reflected the conditions here at Easter. However, that aside, we thank you for your comments and business. Regards T&D

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Big grass pitch which was lovely. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great big park in the village for children...small one in the campsite (not a massive amount to do but handy to have onsite). Shop onsite was super handy and reasonably priced. Icecream van came round on the Saturday which was a nice treat. Facilities were a good size but I think top toilet shower block needed a refresh. unfortunately the nature trail was closed but hopefully will be open next time. The village has a nice chippy and coop, cuckoo trail very close by. Lakeside bistro was wonderful and again very close.Bus in the village a few mins walk which took 50 mins to Eastbourne beach. No WiFi but that's not always a bad thing! Pot holes were sorted by time we left . Overall great site.

From the manager: Hi Caroline. Many thanks for that lovely review. We are aware of the somewhat "dated" appearance of our top field facilities and we are hoping to address that in the off season. We look forward to seeing you back with us soon. Thanks again! T&D

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Everything is clean and tidy. Pitches are well maintained. Friendly staff.

Disliked: Nothing to do with the site ,but people letting there dog bark every time someone walked by. Inconsiderate.

From the manager: Hi Michael. Thanks for the lovely review. We try to make it as much of a easy-peasey break for our guests as we can. The dog thing I am afraid is luck of the draw. Out of everyone's normal control sadly. But so glad you liked the site - we hope to see you again soon! Cheers T&D

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Lovely site, shower and toilet facilities were always clean, plenty of room although only 2 showers, 2 toilets and 2 washrooms I was usually the only person in there. Dog walk in a large park just behind site, fishing lake and cafe on the grounds of the manor farm, friendly village in walking distance with a coop and nice fish and chip shop, close to bus route although Eastbourne was about 1.5 hours on the bus. Great site to explore the area on foot or by bike. We only had a short 5 day break but I really felt I had been there longer, very relaxed and the weather was fantastic, even our excitable dog was relaxed. Site was very quiet during the week when we arrived. Got busy at the weekend as the school holidays started so it got a bit livelier.
