Horam Manor Country Park: Pitches

General

  • Peaceful family-run park on manor estate with fishing and horse riding
  • Cuckoo Trail walking and cycling two minutes' drive away
  • Additional toilet block with disabled room and underfloor heating

What a handsome site – and what a handy location. Have yourself a holiday at Horam Manor Country Park in East Sussex for a peaceful and roomy setting as well as proximity to walking and biking paths, fishing, horse riding, tennis and golf – and quite a bit more on and off site.

A family-run and friendly park on a manor estate, Horam Manor is only a couple of minutes by car from the Cuckoo Trail, the scenic 14-mile path trail along the old Cuckoo Line railway track from Heathfield to Eastbourne Park. Previous guests have esteemed this site most highly for the friendly and helpful approach of its family team, its modern and immaculately kept amenities, and its range of activities and leisure facilities for guests young and old.

Activities and family events are organised throughout the season; fishing, woodland walks, nature trails and horse riding are available around the estate; and play areas are on site and in the adjacent village. The friendly welcome extends to family friends too, with a dog walking area close by and a dog shower and dog water bowls thoughtfully added around the grounds.

As you might expect, the amenities are also excellently thought out: there are two toilet blocks (one of which has underfloor heating), spacious showers, private wash cubicles and a fully equipped disabled room. A laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, both coin-operated, is also available to guests.

The park has a small grocery shop selling basics such as milk, sweets, ice creams and drinks; it also stocks local produce such as jams. More shops and a pub are in Horam, a few minutes' stroll away.

And if you're here for the seaside, beaches at Eastbourne and Lewes are within half an hour; Brighton is within 45 minutes and famed seaside towns such as Rye and Hastings are 30 to 45 minutes from the site. Local buses serve all major towns in the area.

Lovely site and very spacious. Nothing to dislike! close to the facilities which was a plus. We had the electrics and everything worked very well. We were helped set up (inflatable tent) by a very nice young man which helped to make us feel 'at home' as it was first time we camped there. The fact that there was a discount for September helped also to make us appreciate the setting.
We had a great few sunny days and although the nights were on the cold side never suffered from that as well equipped in our trailer tent.

The friendly staff was very nice and helpful. Couldn't fault anything. Very clean facilities and as our week was slightly off-season, we enjoyed a fair amount of peace and quiet.

We won't stay there again (regretfully) as we have probably finished with camping due to not getting any younger!

Not really dislike but useful to note that bar was only open some days and shut at 5pm. Bar and local eateries within easy walking distance including fish and chip shop all shut Sundays and Mondays.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is unfortunate that the Lakeside Bistro is now operating Winter hours...they are an independent business and change their opening hours to suit customer intake.

Friendly staff. Facilities. Good location for visiting other places. Unfortunately we could only stay one night as I had an emergency and we had to cut our stay short. The very friendly owners kindly offered us a free one night stay if we should return.

    Disliked:

It is dog friendly which is great for dog lovers but the yapping didn’t do it for us.
