Pointer Farm Campsite: Grass pitches

General

  • Peaceful pitches on a working farm just outside Stalmine
  • A 20-minute drive from Blackpool and half an hour from Lancaster
  • Dogs welcome on site; local pub 10 minutes' walk away

It’s all about peaceful times at Pointer Farm Campsite, a spacious site on a working farm in the Lancashire countryside just outside the village of Stalmine.

This is a place to pitch up (with dog in tow if you’ve got one) for great rural rambles followed by evenings spent sipping real ale or dining on tasty meals at a country pub. It’ll take you 10 minutes or so to wander down to the local hostelry, but if you don’t fancy venturing that far you’re welcome to light up a barbecue for open-air dinners on site instead.

Being out in a proper rural location means plenty of space and quiet around this site – but this site isn’t quite as remote as its surroundings might suggest. A 15-minute drive gets you from the farm to Poulton-le-Fylde and it’s only a little further to the bright lights of Blackpool (about a 20-minute drive in total). The bus stop in the village means there’s also the option to get down to the coast using public transport if you’d rather leave the car behind.

Back at the farm, facilities are simple but well kept: the smart modern facilities block has unisex toilets and showers along with a washing-up area, and there’s also free wifi so you can keep in contact with the wider world.

Please note

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

A cable measuring at least 5 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Nice quiet site surrounded by countryside. Toilet block clean and modern. Only a 10 min walk to the local pub which was excellent for food and the real ale is fantastic. In fact its probably the best kept ale I have drank in a good while. All the locals really friendly and had a good laugh in there.

Lovely small, well maintained caravan site, with clean and well looked after facilities and free wifi!

Dog walking field was available which made the stay great.

Owners were fabulous with communication, fast and responsive.

Can very highly recommend the Seven Stars pub which is dog friendly and 10 minute straight walk from the site. Their Sunday roasts are amazing!

Would recommend if you are looking for a nice quiet site, and we will definitely return.

No reception or anyone to greet you, we had noisy campers until gone 2am and no one about to complain to. Showers nowhere to put anything I’m disabled, so can’t bend down to get stuff and no chair to sit on. Just something to think about….

From the manager...

Thank you for your comments unfortunately there isn’t enough room in the showers to fit a seat but there are hangers in there to hang things. To keep things affordable for everyone with current climate we run the campsite contactless ourselves but all check in information is provided before arrival and we’re available on the phone 8am - 8pm for queries and 24hrs for any issues/emergency’s our number is on all bookings and signage inc notice board around the site should the need arise had we known about the other campers noise we would have dealt with it promptly but usually find if you had let them know about the noise they would have reduced it.

Lovely clean peaceful site. Stayed 2 nights. Walked to the local pub one night and they said everything was homemade. A bit sceptical my husband is a chef of nearly 40 years, but very pleasantly surprised the food, in front of a fire, was beautiful. Woke up to cows mooing which was a lovely sound. We arrived early but that was not an issue the owner was quite happy to let us on site. Answered me straight away with free wifi password. We stayed at a site not far away last year and it was awful. This one was brilliant good signals, wifi and tv, and friendly helpful hosts, and lovely surroundings. We would definitely go back.
