2 bedroom lodge (hot tub, woodland)

Liked Friendly staff
Accommodating needs
Patio was a good size

Disliked The hot tub is not the same as in the picture nor is the patio - extremely misleading

The bathroom had orange marks in the shower from the type of wall material used, better to use tiles to avoid that

The size of the rooms were so compact, in no shape or form suitable for 6 people

The bunk bed takes over the full second room, it's described as a play room but there is only place to stand for one person in a line

The top bunk has a sharp light right next to the ladder and barely any space at the top - not suitable for any child in my opinion a hazard

The microwave did not warm food up evenly, child was sick day after

The plate had hair and the windows had dust

There was no thermostat in sight

The door didn't lock from the inside, did not feel safe at night

The play area is not suitable for toddlers and my child hurt their back on the way down the slide and they flew off the end

The mattress was springy and when I went to cover the end with a blanket I fell into the gap as the mattress wasn't the right size and I hurt my arm

The farm has a few animals only

The sofa looks old

The Garden 1 bedroom camping pod (hot tub)

Liked The Garden was so lovely and well thought out. The shed slept five of us in three beds and we were all very comfortable. Table and benches within the green house was a lovely idea and gave us an enclosed place to sit and eat or play games. Hot tub was great once we got it to temperature. The Garden was surrounded by a fence which kept our dog secure although a small dog may be able to squeeze under the gate. Great walk around the edge of the site with a forest area that was great for exploring and walking the dog. Children’s natural play area in the corner of the site and farm animals alongside the camping field. My son particularly liked the pigs.

Disliked It did take hours to get the hot tub to temperature on the first night. The latch on the gate appeared to be bent and often needed two hands to secure the gate and was too tricky for my eight year old. The hot tub water smelt bad on the second and third nights of our three day stay (we didn’t call anyone about this but maybe we should have). We didn’t see anyone at check-in and we didn’t get or find any information on the local area as a result. I am not convinced the toilets were cleaned daily one in particular appeared untouched until the third night of our stay. The only sink in the bathroom was particularly tiny. Despite our negatives we really did enjoy our stay in The Garden and would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked The site was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the animals and the woodland. Great that they allow bbq and fire pit. Very relaxing ☺️

Disliked Firewood and fire pit expensive for one night. I would take my own next time.
Cockerels were crowing at 3am. I would take ear plugs next time. A lot of people were not woken, Im a light sleeper

Non-electric grass tent pitch (wild, woodland)

Liked Choice of wood land plot, clean toilets, friendly feel, animals to look at for kids, freedom for campfires and various set ups.

Disliked 4am Cockerels not really good for a campsite.

Stronger controls on noise beyond 1030 would be good, music and shouting until past midnight every night

Local attractions

You may know Blackpool for its seafront and 19th-century Central Pier (half an hour’s drive) complete with a funfair, but the attractions certainly don’t end there. You might have a hard time deciding between catapulting down waterslides in Sandcastle Waterpark (35 minutes), dropping from heights at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (35 minutes) or playing like a prisoner on the theatrical rides in the The Blackpool Tower Dungeon (half an hour). Water ready too? Blackpool Wake Park (25 minutes) has an aqua park where you'll be able to get your bounce on. Watersports are on full throttle here too, with everything from wakeboarding to kayaking. St Annes beach (40 minutes) will keep up this spirit too, as the sandy stretch is a hotspot for windsurfing and kitesurfing (and donkey rides, in typical seaside style too). To wind things back down, the town has a few spots for a more leisurely pace. Perhaps a tour of the enclosures in Blackpool Zoo (25 minutes), getting up and close with the wax figures at Madame Tussauds (half an hour) or seeing what life looks like underwater at SEA LIFE Blackpool (half an hour)?
