Ashton Hall
Stunning views
Generously sized pitches with hardstanding and grassed areas
Peaceful and sheltered countryside setting

  • Peaceful and spacious wildlife haven in the smart Ashton Hall Estate
  • Lancaster city and the Forest of Bowland both within six miles
  • An 11-hole seaview golf course, woodland walks and fishing in the Lune
Rock up here for a restful retreat among the comely grounds of Ashton Hall Caravan Park… Within Ashton Hall’s extensive estate are an 11-hole golf course with spectacular seaward vista, as well as a garden centre and café, all bordered by ancient woodlands and the River Lune, and direct access to the Lancashire Coastal Way and the Lune Estuary Footpath. Your holiday days will surely fill up quickly with all there is to do around the locale too – if you manage to tear yourself away from the site, that is – as the Forest of Bowland, the Lune Estuary and Lancaster city are all within six miles. On site, there's loads of room to wander around the grounds or in the adjoining forest for woodland walking routes, nature trails and cycle paths, many of which will take you from the site directly to the banks of the River Lune. On top of all this, the site takes pride in its sparklingly clean unisex toilet and shower facilities in a modern stone-built bathroom block with underfloor heating. The building includes an accessible bathroom/ family facility, a vanity area with washbasins, big mirrors and a hairdryer, a laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers, and a covered washing-up area – like the site itself, the amenities block is safely secure and accessed via a secure key code. A local pub and restaurant lies within a mile of the estate, and Lancaster is three miles away.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We only stayed 1 night on our way home from the Lakes. Very conveniently located near the M6 but no traffic noise. Pitches were massive!
We walked to the pub but were unable to find the path until on our way back. It was actually right in front of our pitch! Maybe a sign would have helped.
Facilities were spotless.

Disliked An opening window would have helped in the toilet/shower block as it became very humid. People tried leaving the door open but others kept shutting it.

Seafield fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The coffee at the nearby garden centre was excellent. We forfeited our payment and moved on so nothing to like.

Disliked We arrived at 11:30 am only to find someone else pitched on site 8 but they were not around to discuss or ask them to move. I am also not the type to simply rake a different site and annoy someone else in the process. So we decided to move on and found another camp site further south. Then at 2:30pm I get a text saying please use site 10. Too late we were already 50 miles away

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We liked the setting, the pitch size, and the water/electricity hookups.

The communal toilet/shower/washing block is a nice, substantial brick building. The facilities all worked and are well maintained.

The general upkeep of the site was good.

Disliked The only downside is the communal toilet/shower/washing block that, whilst OK, could be better.

It wasn't dirty, but it wasn't clean enough to our liking or enough for a better overall score.

The showers didn't have enough hooks and shelves for the stuff needed when showering at a camping facility.

It didn't look awful, but it wasn't aesthetically pleasing either.
