  • Spacious site on the edge of the Forest of Bowland
  • A 10-minute stroll from the market town of Barnoldswick
  • Leeds and Liverpool Canal five minutes' walk away
An immaculately maintained site within easy reach of forest, dale and canalside walks, hikes and bike rides… sound rather tempting? Take yourself along to splendid little Bridge Holme Caravan Site for Lancashire – and Yorkshire – adventures in all the above plus a whole heap more. 'Beautiful', 'immaculate', 'lovely' and 'fantastic' are just a few (a very few) of the chuffed comments from former guests at this peaceful farm site among the Pennine Hills, where there's a friendly and relaxed vibe as well as a mighty helpful team. It's a spacious and grassy site, surrounded by historic towns and villages, cities, and protected woodlands, moorlands and open countryside. Bridge Holme is nicely secluded but within easy reach of pretty much everything that might tickle your fancy: it's around 10 minutes' walk from bars, restaurants and shops in the market town of Barnoldswick; several Pennine cycle and bridleway routes also pass through the town, and miles of walking countryside are in the town surrounds. The site is also only five minutes' walk from the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, which runs all the way to Skipton and its tearooms, pubs and big Saturday market. The mountain biking trails of Gisburn Forest are a short drive away, and there are more outdoor options for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, around 10 miles away. Pitches are set in a level and mown one-acre field, with views over green countryside (and of the resident goats). The spotless amenities include toilets, chemical disposal, and hot showers for an additional fee (please note that the toilet and shower block is closed from November to March). A play park is adjacent to the site.

This small, peaceful farm site offers spacious, level pitches and immaculate facilities. Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked Lovely quiet site on a working farm. Very clean and tidy with good size pitches and plenty of picnic tables for sitting out at. We’d forgotten our EHU cable but the owner of the site planned us one at no charge. Barnoldswick is just a 25 minute walk from the site and there are plenty of other walks very close. Will definitely be going back.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Small, peaceful campsite with a nice rural feel and some lovely alpacas and cows nearby. Facilities are limited, which is expected for a simple farm-style site.

Christine site manager ,appears very helpful and provided us with an information sheet to aid our stay . The calves and alpacas make for great camping neighbours !

A good size Aldi is just 10 mins walk along the pleasant park area , always a plus for replenishing stocks .

Disliked Access road is a narrow farm-track approach with overhanging bushes that makes entry and exit awkward, especially for larger motorhomes.

Our stay was generally peaceful, but a group of three caravanners dogs ,did cause some disruption, with barking continuing for long periods. It took a little away from the atmosphere, though it was likely just unfortunate timing during our visit

As others mentioned 2 toilets and 1 pay for shower might be expanded for the site numbers involved

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked This is our third visit to the site and it was as wonderful as always. Even when it was full on the bank holiday weekend, it was still very quiet. Christine the manager is so lovely and helpful and always makes you feel welcome. A short walk to the bus stop takes you into Skipton, or a short stroll takes you into the centre of Barlick which is a lovely place to sit and have a drink and a bite to eat. We can’t recommend it enough and will be back again soon!

Local attractions

Local town Barnoldswick is fably placed for Lancashire and Yorkshire adventures, as it's close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland, the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and enough hiking/biking paths to keep one occupied for weeks. The town's on the lower slopes of Weets Hill; for a scenic hike, make your way south of Barnoldswick to Letcliff Country Park and the start of a six and a half mile walk over the local limestone plateau. If you seek even headier times, cross over the Lancashire border to reach the Yorkshire Dales, where the intrepid can tackle the limestone cliffs of Kilnsey, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar within 30 to 40 minutes of Bridge Holme. Slightly less actively, the mountain bike trails around Gisburn Forest (in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) are 35 minutes' drive away. Ready now for more sedate pursuits? The shopping centre and castle of Clitheroe are within 25 minutes' drive and Saltaire and Salt Mill within 40. Further afield, Leeds is an hour and 10 minutes away and York an hour and a half.
