General

  • Spacious site on the edge of the Forest of Bowland
  • A 10-minute stroll from the market town of Barnoldswick
  • Leeds and Liverpool Canal five minutes' walk away

An immaculately-maintained site within easy reach of forest, dale and canalside walks, hikes and bike rides... sound just tiptop? Take yourself along to splendid little Bridge Holme Caravan Site for Lancashire – and Yorkshire – adventures in all the above plus a whole heap more.

'Beautiful', 'immaculate', 'lovely' and 'fantastic' are just a few (a very few) of the chuffed comments from former guests at this peaceful farm site among the Pennine Hills, where there's a friendly and relaxed vibe as well as a mighty helpful team. It's a spacious and grassy site, surrounded by historic towns and villages, cities, and protected woodlands, moorlands and open countryside.

Bridge Holme is nicely secluded but within easy reach of pretty much everything that might tickle your fancy: it's around 10 minutes' walk from bars, restaurants and shops in the market town of Barnoldswick; several Pennine cycle and bridleway routes also pass through the town, and miles of walking countryside are in the town surrounds.

The site is also only five minutes' walk from the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, which runs all the way to Skipton and its tearooms, pubs and big Saturday market. The mountain biking trails of Gisburn Forest are a short drive away, and there are more outdoor options for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, around 10 miles away.

Pitches are set in a level and mown one-acre field, with views over green countryside (and of t he resident goats). The spotless amenities include showers, toilets and chemical disposal.

A play park is adjacent to the site.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Please note that the toilet and shower block will not be available from November until mid-March.

Bridge Holme Caravan site is sited in close proximity to the local village of Barnoldswick and Leeds and Liverpool Canal, both make a stay at this site as well worth it.

The local village has everything that you could or might need and is within walking distance of the site.

The site is well situated on the canal side, Skipton is about 9 miles one way and Foulridge is about 4miles the other way - cycling either way is very pleasant. There are several stop-over points (both pubs and cafes on the route) that are super friendly for both walkers and bike riders.

Lovely little site with a nice walk along the canal to the town centre.
Everything that you need on site and although all pitches were occupied it was peaceful and quiet.

    Disliked:

Our sat nav sent us down the road directly facing you as you head towards the site which is very tight. Instead use the bus turning circle and use the road to the left from there which runs adjacent.

Local attractions

Local town Barnoldswick is fably placed for Lancashire and Yorkshire adventures, as it's close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland, the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and hiking/biking paths to keep one occupied for weeks. The town's on the lower slopes of Weets Hill; for a scenic hike, make your way south of Barnoldswick to to Letcliff Country Park and the start of a six and a half mile walk over the local limestone plateau.

If you seek even headier times, cross over the Lancashire border to reach the Yorkshire Dales, where the intrepid can tackle the limestone cliffs of Kilnsey, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar within 30 to 40 minutes of Bridge Holme. Slightly less actively, the mountain bike trails around Gisburn Forest (in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) are 35 minutes' drive away.

Ready now for more sedate pursuits? The shopping centre and castle of Clitheroe are within 25 minutes' drive and Saltaire and Salt Mill within 40. Further afield, Leeds is an hour and 10 minutes away and York an hour and a half.
