  • Spacious site on the edge of the Forest of Bowland
  • A 10-minute stroll from the market town of Barnoldswick
  • Leeds and Liverpool Canal five minutes' walk away
An immaculately maintained site within easy reach of forest, dale and canalside walks, hikes and bike rides… sound rather tempting? Take yourself along to splendid little Bridge Holme Caravan Site for Lancashire – and Yorkshire – adventures in all the above plus a whole heap more. 'Beautiful', 'immaculate', 'lovely' and 'fantastic' are just a few (a very few) of the chuffed comments from former guests at this peaceful farm site among the Pennine Hills, where there's a friendly and relaxed vibe as well as a mighty helpful team. It's a spacious and grassy site, surrounded by historic towns and villages, cities, and protected woodlands, moorlands and open countryside. Bridge Holme is nicely secluded but within easy reach of pretty much everything that might tickle your fancy: it's around 10 minutes' walk from bars, restaurants and shops in the market town of Barnoldswick; several Pennine cycle and bridleway routes also pass through the town, and miles of walking countryside are in the town surrounds. The site is also only five minutes' walk from the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, which runs all the way to Skipton and its tearooms, pubs and big Saturday market. The mountain biking trails of Gisburn Forest are a short drive away, and there are more outdoor options for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, around 10 miles away. Pitches are set in a level and mown one-acre field, with views over green countryside (and of the resident goats). The spotless amenities include toilets, chemical disposal, and hot showers for an additional fee (please note that the toilet and shower block is closed from November to March). A play park is adjacent to the site.

What customers say

This is a small, quiet, and well-maintained campsite on a working farm, praised for its friendly and helpful owner, Christine. Pitches are spacious and level, with lovely rural views and farm animals on site. The location is convenient for walks along the canal and a short walk into Barnoldswick. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are consistently described as clean, though some guests note their basic nature and the additional cost for showers. A few reviews mention a nearby factory noise and proximity to a water treatment plant, though smells were not usually an issue. Overall, guests highly recommend the site and plan to return.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Lovely farm and the pitches were really nice with hedges around for privacy & a picnic bench couldn’t have been better. Quite close to Skipton where we spent an amazing day by the canal, shopping and eating and having a cocktail. Barlick itself was a really nice town with plenty of takeaways and pubs. The town centre was lovely plenty to do.

Disliked Don’t follow the satnav it sent us down a very narrow Road only enough room for us an our caravan. There is another way in come through the town watch out.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Peaceful site, level gravel pitches. On a working farm with cows, and inquisitive baby cows. Lovely walk along the canal. Small town of Barnoldswick with lots of independent shops. Bus about 10 min walk. Friendly and helpful host.
£1 needed for 6 minutes shower, which was plenty, and hot.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Lovely, quiet campsite with great surrounding views.

Barnoldswick is a lovely market town and we enjoyed exploring around.

Lock Stop Cafe is a great little place that’s just along the canal, about a 10min walk from the site - would recommend.

Our son loved the farm animals on site too.

We’d definitely come back.

Local attractions

Local town Barnoldswick is fably placed for Lancashire and Yorkshire adventures, as it's close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland, the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and enough hiking/biking paths to keep one occupied for weeks. The town's on the lower slopes of Weets Hill; for a scenic hike, make your way south of Barnoldswick to Letcliff Country Park and the start of a six and a half mile walk over the local limestone plateau. If you seek even headier times, cross over the Lancashire border to reach the Yorkshire Dales, where the intrepid can tackle the limestone cliffs of Kilnsey, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar within 30 to 40 minutes of Bridge Holme. Slightly less actively, the mountain bike trails around Gisburn Forest (in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) are 35 minutes' drive away. Ready now for more sedate pursuits? The shopping centre and castle of Clitheroe are within 25 minutes' drive and Saltaire and Salt Mill within 40. Further afield, Leeds is an hour and 10 minutes away and York an hour and a half.
