An immaculately maintained site within easy reach of forest, dale and canalside walks, hikes and bike rides… sound rather tempting? Take yourself along to splendid little Bridge Holme Caravan Site for Lancashire – and Yorkshire – adventures in all the above plus a whole heap more. 'Beautiful', 'immaculate', 'lovely' and 'fantastic' are just a few (a very few) of the chuffed comments from former guests at this peaceful farm site among the Pennine Hills, where there's a friendly and relaxed vibe as well as a mighty helpful team. It's a spacious and grassy site, surrounded by historic towns and villages, cities, and protected woodlands, moorlands and open countryside. Bridge Holme is nicely secluded but within easy reach of pretty much everything that might tickle your fancy: it's around 10 minutes' walk from bars, restaurants and shops in the market town of Barnoldswick; several Pennine cycle and bridleway routes also pass through the town, and miles of walking countryside are in the town surrounds. The site is also only five minutes' walk from the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, which runs all the way to Skipton and its tearooms, pubs and big Saturday market. The mountain biking trails of Gisburn Forest are a short drive away, and there are more outdoor options for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, around 10 miles away. Pitches are set in a level and mown one-acre field, with views over green countryside (and of the resident goats). The spotless amenities include toilets, chemical disposal, and hot showers for an additional fee (please note that the toilet and shower block is closed from November to March). A play park is adjacent to the site.

Liked Small and quiet site, exactly what I was looking for.
Warm welcome with info leaflet then given space.
Walking distance into town and along canal to great cafe.
Toilets are basic but clean.

Disliked SIGNAGE: hard to see which way to go when I got closer, particularly as the gate to the farm was closed so I wondered whether there was a second one, specifically for campers, I was supposed to use and drove further along the lane - when the sides started to close in on me I realised my mistake and reversed very carefully!

ELECTRICITY: the first post I tried to connect to didn't work at all so I connected to the next one - not a problem when so few campers were on site but couldn't have done that if it had been busier. This connection tripped out when I started cooking.

Be aware there's a constant mechanical hum coming from the site next door - might be a problem if you're sensitive to such things.

Liked A peaceful site with large pitches . We enjoyed seeing the animals each day and loved the Alpacas.
Plenty to do within walking distance from the site . The local town Barnoldswick was a 15 minute walk and some lovely canal walks .

Disliked No issues. A cold tap for teeth cleaning would be good. But thisnis a very minor point.

Liked Called the number for the site on arrival and received a very warm welcome. We were shown to our allocated pitch. The facilities were pointed out and we were given a useful guide to the area. Very quiet and peaceful site. Slightly larger than normal pitch size
Proximity to wonderful walks particularly along the canal
Close enough to walk into Barnoldswick which has a great selection of bars, pubs, restaurants and take aways along with a couple of supermarkets and a selection of independent shops

Disliked If the site were ever to be full I would imagine one ladies, one gents toilet and only one shower could become a problem. Also given the nightly rate seems odd to charge for the shower separately. However again this didn’t make much difference to us as I factored the cost in and while my husband used the shower I decided to use the on board caravan shower
One thing which did cause a flight issue was the directions/warning about coming up the lane to the site which does have some signs (I didn’t see them as we drove in) all you need to note is come into the lane via the town centre and head towards the football ground. Then go past the ground on your right and you will be fine. It’s a very short distance and not overly busy

Liked Lovely location and we will definitely return. Really easy to walk into Barnoldswick, the site was quiet and clean. We didn't use the shower whilst there because you need a £1 coin and we both forgot to bring money but I popped my head in and it looked nice and clean.

Please follow these instructions and do not enter Greenberfield Lane from Skipton Road. Enter Greenberfield Lane from the B6251, and you will see signposts for the football/cricket field. After the housing estate, bear right and go over the hill. Bear left back onto Greenberfield Lane, where the site is about 100 yards away on the right-hand side. Please enter through the gate and follow the track around to the left. If the owner doesn't see you arrive, please call their number.

Local town Barnoldswick is fably placed for Lancashire and Yorkshire adventures, as it's close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland, the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and enough hiking/biking paths to keep one occupied for weeks. The town's on the lower slopes of Weets Hill; for a scenic hike, make your way south of Barnoldswick to Letcliff Country Park and the start of a six and a half mile walk over the local limestone plateau. If you seek even headier times, cross over the Lancashire border to reach the Yorkshire Dales, where the intrepid can tackle the limestone cliffs of Kilnsey, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar within 30 to 40 minutes of Bridge Holme. Slightly less actively, the mountain bike trails around Gisburn Forest (in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) are 35 minutes' drive away. Ready now for more sedate pursuits? The shopping centre and castle of Clitheroe are within 25 minutes' drive and Saltaire and Salt Mill within 40. Further afield, Leeds is an hour and 10 minutes away and York an hour and a half.
