Liked Big pitch with nice little fire pit waiting to be used. The kids loved the lambs in the fields next to us. The rain fall showers were great!

Beautiful friendly farm site with lovely views.
Main Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Beautiful stay in the sunshine at Farm and Fell. Great to be on a working farm and lovely views. Shower was hot. We loved using the fire pit as we bought fire wood and also bottle fed the lambs, highlight of our stay! Thankyou!
Disliked For us we would have liked more than one sink, especially in the toilets, but it wasn’t a problem as it was quiet when we stayed.

Wood Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (groups only)
Liked Friendly owners and lamb feeding opportunities for children - and they sat on a tractor. Nice location by river to enjoy in good weather. Other families were very nice return customers.
Disliked Expensive for poor facilities and no electric. Toilets cold and no toilet paper. Showers freezing and insufficient plumbing for hot water. Only one sink. Waste disposal not operational
The weather was bad which can't be helped, but there was very little gravel standing and camper vans got stuck in mud and had to be pulled out. Our van turned out not to have a tow anchor, but the farmer kindly came with a spade and managed to put something under the wheels to get us out. On a warm summer day the experience would probably be mush better!

From the manager: I think it important to add some context to this review.
You booked a grass camping pitch on the weekend that Storm David arrived with rain and 60mph wind in your large rented camper van. You drove past hard standing to get on your grass pitch.
We don't advertise electric hook ups. You booked a pitch without electric hook ups.
We delayed lamb feeding for you and kept the other families waiting at 0900hrs because you and your children were still having breakfast.
The reason I came with a spade was because you'd pulled onto your pitch forward and didn't have a rear tow hook. Campervans normally reverse onto pitches in wet weather so we can attach the front tow hook to pull them off. It didn't matter because you didn't know where your tow hook was and hadn't checked you had one. Of course, you blamed the campervan hire company who were 5 hours late handing over your van.
I got on my hands and knees in the mud, dug out your poor admin literally, and with the help of the families who had the sense to park their camper vans on the hard standing, we pushed you out.
The AA would have charged you at least £250 for a call-out on Easter Monday, but they still wouldn't have got you. I charged you nothing. At that moment, you had ample opportunity to comment on any showers being cold, but you didn't. We didn't have any complaints all weekend about the shower temperature, quite the contrary, people were commenting how hot they were. The lamb milk you commented was so warm had come out of the same boiler as the showers, therefore I can only conclude you turned the shower mixer valve to cold and not hot.
On Easter Monday as you left, you asked Grace where you could get fuel as you only had 10 miles left.
Sometimes you have to take a bit of ownership and reflect on your own poor administration before deflecting onto others who tried to help you.

Liked A very nice quiet campsite with a view of some of the howgills, great place to just sit and take it all in with a beer. Decent facilities and some goats! Good stroll into the town as well to get some steps in without being too far.
Disliked Nothing, it was exactly what I was looking for.
