General

  • Wild-style pop-up rural Cumbria site in the Upper Lune Valley
  • Cautley Spout and Sedbergh within a 25-minute drive
  • In the Yorkshire Dales National Park, 10 minutes' drive from the M6

Netherings Campsite is a wild-style pop-up site in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in a particularly fine spot for those guests aiming to spend lots of time exploring the area on foot.

This peaceful Cumbria location is in the Upper Lune Valley 10 minutes’ drive from Kirkby Stephen, with gorgeous views out over the Howgill Fells. They’ll give you just a taste of what you might see while out rambling in the surrounding landscape – there are plenty of walking trails to wander along locally, or you can fill your days with other outdoor pursuits including fishing, horse riding and golf.

Getting out on foot may take you off to some of the Dales’ top spots – from here it’s easy to get out to places like Cautley Spout, Radical Steps or the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. And if having the whole of one national park to choose from isn’t enough, there’s much more to explore in the nearby Lake District National Park too – it’s just the other side of the M6 (which itself is about 10 minutes’ drive away).

Back on site after your efforts, there’s plenty of space to relax in, and you’re welcome to light up a barbecue for alfresco cooking if you wish (although there are also a couple of pubs within a few minutes’ drive too if you’d rather someone else did the honours). Facilities are pretty simple, with just portaloos in the camping field.

The location of the site is perfect if you are travelling from the north or south of the country and want to see the lakes, its only a 30 minute drive to most of the main attractions of the lakes.
The hosts were absolutely fantastic, very welcoming and happy to help with anything you needed. For example on our stay we didn't bring enough fire wood for the night and they were happy to bring us more out.
There are onsite spots for fires.
    Fresh water from a tap.
There are also on site toiletry tents with toilet paper, sanitiser and a toilet to use.

    Disliked:

The site was on a slight hill but there were plenty of spots to have a flat nights sleep.

Me and my family had 2 nights booked with Low Dubbs Farm, Newbiggin-On-Lune (Netherings campsite). The site was amazing, we had one of the best experiences especially it being our first. I will look forward to spending most of my holidays at their camp site with more family and friends. The customer service was very good, and the managers were very nice.

Also, the scenery was amazing and it was very calm and relaxing to be there. I would definitely recommend the campsite to anyone who wants a peaceful time away.

Me and my family had 2 nights booked with Netherings Campsite, Low Dubbs Farm. Their camp site was amazing, we had one of the best experiences ever. They were so friendly that they even helped us with tent pegs which we never had. The scenery was amazing and it was very peaceful. The camp also supplied fresh water to drink and wash. I would definitely recommend them for anyone. I will look forward to spend more of my holidays at their camp site. Want a great outdoor experience? do make sure you visit them. Thank you Netherings Campsite for a lovely outdoor experience.
