What customers say

This campsite boasts stunning views and a prime location, a short, pleasant walk to Kirkby Lonsdale town centre with its many pubs and restaurants. Reviewers consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff. Facilities, particularly the showers and toilets, are generally found to be clean and spacious, often utilising rugby club changing rooms. Pitches are described as well-spaced and level, with ample room. While most experiences are positive, some guests found the site expensive for the facilities provided and noted occasional issues with cleanliness or waiting times for showers when busy.

Electric grass pitch

Liked The staff were great, very accommodating. The pitch we got up the top grass area was amazing, nice big space and an even bigger area for the kids to play football, rugby and cricket. Quiet site, facilities clean and tidy. 10 minute walk into the lovely town of Kirkby Lonsdale and another 5 minutes down to the water.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Enjoyed this site, beautiful senary, lovely walks in Kibky lonsdale, short stroll to Devils bridge and a walk back on the river. Lovely pubs shops and food...Site clean and tidy, plenty of showers, toilets busy and sometimes dirty...large rally on at same time. Rugby club bar staff were great Sunday night, we wasn't able to use the bar over the weekend due to private function, but made up for this by bringing our own beers and sat with family on the camping field...Definitely will book to come back..

Disliked Dirty toilets

Liked Very friendly welcome and super helpful we’d managed to forget one of our tent poles and we were kindly given one from the couple running the site . The pitch was generous size and we had a great view, facilities were well maintained and clean . Kirkby Lonsdale was an easy walk and very pretty with excellent amenities.

Local attractions

There's a bit of a scrum over Kirkby Lonsdale, with the Lakes, the Dales and even the Forest of Bowland all claiming the town as their gateway… and why not indeed… There are many fine old inns among the 17th- and 18th-century houses of this handsome old market town, and visitors to the 11th-century church should find peace and reflection. With the river flowing right through, you're well placed to go fishing or paddle a canoe downstream; paths make for excellent easy riverside rambling too. Head half an hour north and you'll hit Windermere. Take in the view, then take a walk: at the top of the lake, Ambleside (45 minutes' drive) is a hub for many paths up the high tarns and fells. Clamouring for your attention to the east, the three peaks of the Yorkshire Dales are in easy reach, with Ingleborough closest (half an hour). If you don't fancy going up, head down to the fab caves instead. Meanwhile, armchair adventurers can settle in a comfy berth on the scenic Settle-Carlisle railway starting in, er, Settle (an hour's drive) or see the lakes from the decks of a steamer on Windermere.
