Cragg Farm Camping Pods: View out from under the archway of the camping pod

General

  • Luxury pods on a working farm with stunning Lake District views
  • A five-minute drive from Cockermouth and 10 from Wordsworth House
  • Units have kitchens, double beds, shower rooms and seating space

Catch you at Cragg Farm Camping Pods – at the edge of the Lake District – for a Cumbria break with cracking views out over the northern fells.

This park, around a five-minute drive from Cockermouth, has well-lit accommodation suitable for families or couples in peaceful surrounds with a wealth of walking trails nearby to suit all abilities. Each pod, built from Siberian larch to trap in heat, contains a fully fitted kitchen with a sink, a two-ring induction hob, an oven, a fridge-freezer and a microwave – essentially, the main bits and bobs you need for making meals.

Other amenities include a generously sized shower room with a toilet and washbasin, plus fully fitted beds. Settle in at the dining table and chairs in the living space or spread out on a comfy corner sofa that turns into a double bed. Full insulation in the roof and floor, along with double glazing and underfloor heating, helps make sure your stay is as cosy as can be.

While you’re indoors and toasty, switch on the LED lights and charge your electronic devices or flick on the TV. Outside, the pod has a spacious decked area next to a patch of land reserved for parking your car, so there’s ample room for alfresco relaxing.

Need supplies? Cockermouth has numerous specialist shops for stocking up, including a butcher, bakery, greengrocer and fishmonger. There are also restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

Everything!! Catherine is so lovely, friendly and welcoming, and is always there if you need anything. The pod was fantastic! It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and has everything you could need for your stay. The thoughtful welcome pack, with lots of local information, comes in very handy too. To have everything within the pod was great, a spotless bathroom with a lovely hot shower, a fully equipped kitchen to make meals, and electricity for charging devices ready to take lots of photos and videos.
The pods are in a fantastic area too, with amazing views in a very peaceful setting. There's so much to do on the doorstep we will have to return to do some of what we couldn't fit in.

Catherine and her family were most friendly, accommodating and helpful. The pod was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The views are uplifting and beautiful. The four of us including my wife, two adult sons and myself enjoyed our short stay and spent the time exploring Buttermere and Crummock Water as well as Cockermouth and Keswick.

Well equipped pods, with good open space.15/07/2022

These pods really were well equipped. There was no lack in cooking facilities or kitchenware. Hot water was on tap in the sinks and for the shower. We enjoyed the space outdoors, which was great for the kids to play, and the weather was good enough to eat all our meals out on the large picnic bench on the pod balcony. Our host family were lovely, Catherine cheerfully on hand to ensure we were comfortable and her children came to play with ours some evenings.

The children wanted to go camping in the Lake District and Cragg Farm Camping Pods made it possible to manage as a single mum of children with additional needs. The accommodation on offer was far superior to any hotel we’ve stayed in with regards to meeting our needs.

    Disliked:

There really wasn’t much to dislike. The location required a few miles’ journey each day for adventures, but the roads were easy, and there is plenty to do within a half-hour drive. For us, the value of the accommodation on offer balanced the distance.
