Cragg Farm Camping Pods: View out from under the archway of the camping pod

General

  • Luxury pods on a working farm with stunning Lake District views
  • A five-minute drive from Cockermouth and 10 from Wordsworth House
  • Units have kitchens, double beds, shower rooms and seating space

Catch you at Cragg Farm Camping Pods – at the edge of the Lake District – for a Cumbria break with cracking views out over the northern fells.

This park, around a five-minute drive from Cockermouth, has well-lit accommodation suitable for families or couples in peaceful surrounds with a wealth of walking trails nearby to suit all abilities. Each pod, built from Siberian larch to trap in heat, contains a fully fitted kitchen with a sink, a two-ring induction hob, an oven, a fridge-freezer and a microwave – essentially, the main bits and bobs you need for making meals.

Other amenities include a generously sized shower room with a toilet and washbasin, plus a fully fitted double bed with a single upper bunk. Settle in at the dining table and chairs in the living space or spread out on a comfy corner sofa that turns into a double bed. Full insulation in the roof and floor, along with double glazing and underfloor heating, helps make sure your stay is as cosy as can be.

While you’re indoors and toasty, switch on the LED lights and charge your electronic devices or flick on the TV. Outside, the pod has a spacious decked area next to a patch of land reserved for parking your car, so there’s ample room for alfresco relaxing.

Need supplies? Cockermouth has numerous specialist shops for stocking up, including a butcher, bakery, greengrocer and fishmonger. There are also restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

Everything, friendly and well organised on arrival, pod was clean and well laid out with all you could need for up to a week's stay - no dishwashers or washing machine but laundrette services are available in nearby towns.
Stunning view from the decking balcony with picnic tables and very quiet location meant a proper relaxing break.

Great amenities for a cosy cabin in a charming farm! Brilliant lay out and great use of space, and close enough drive to get to any of the stunning lakes around it. Lovely host who was super attentive to our needs but in no way intrusive, couldn’t of asked for a better host! Would happily come back in a heart beat.
