General

  • Luxury pods on a working farm with views over the Lake District
  • A five-minute drive from Cockermouth and 10 from Wordsworth House
  • Units have kitchens, double beds, shower rooms and seating space

Catch you at Cragg Farm Camping Pods – a family site at the edge of the Lake District – for hols in Cumbria with cracking views out over the northern fells.

This park, around a five-minute drive from Cockermouth, has well-lit accommodation to pick from in peaceful surrounds with a wealth of walking trails nearby to suit all abilities. Each pod, built from Siberian larch to trap in heat, contains a fully fitted kitchen with a sink, a two-ring induction hob, an oven, a fridge-freezer and a microwave – essentially, the main bits and bobs you need for making meals.

Other amenities include a generously sized shower room with a toilet and washbasin, plus a fully fitted double bed with a single upper bunk. Settle in at the dining table and chairs in the living space or spread out on a comfy corner sofa that turns into a double bed. Full insulation in the roof and floor, along with double glazing and underfloor heating, helps make sure your stay is as cosy as can be.

While you’re indoors and toasty, switch on the LED lights and charge your electronic devices or flick on the TV. Outside, the pod has a spacious decked area next to a patch of land reserved for parking your car, so there’s ample room for relaxing alfresco.

Need supplies? Cockermouth has numerous specialist shops for stocking up, including a butcher, bakery, greengrocer and fishmonger. There are also restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

There is camping; there is glamping; and then there are Cragg Farm Pods!

We stayed there last week and were bowled over with what we had. The Pod itself is very well equipped with all the things you would need for a holiday like this. Everything was so tidy and well thought out. Particularly liked the shower as it had plenty of room even for someone of 6’4”. The location is superb too, with outstanding views from Skiddaw all the way round to Great Gable.

Our hosts were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Cragg Farm Pods are the bee’s knee’s, cat’s whisker’s and dog’s doo-dah’s all rolled into one. We will definitely return.

The pod has excellent facilities including complimentary hot drinks and Freeview TV. It was warm and had plenty of space due to it being well designed. The beds were comfy and the views from the pod were spectacular. There is easy access to Cockermouth which is just a five minute drive away and The Lakes are just a little further with some excellent walks nearby. The owner Catherine was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved every second of our stay! The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and the pod was spotlessly clean upon arrival (there was sanitizer available to use around the site too) The location was stunning - so quiet and we woke up to beautiful views in a morning. The pod was well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and is worth every penny! 10/10 would recommend

Catherine was such a welcoming, friendly host. The location of the cabin is really beautiful and they are immaculate and well thought out - everything you need is in the cabin. The underfloor heating was lovely as it did get chilly at night. Really great, safe COVID measures in place. A fantastic stay :)

Catherine was a great host, she met us on arrival, showed us how everything worked and was knowledgable and helpful throughout our stay! There was a welcome pack on arrival to have a cup of tea/coffee while unpacking which was a great touch! The location is beautiful, as we approached the farm we could see the pods in a lovely setting! They have a great outside seating area with all round views. The pod itself was very well equipped for all your cooking needs- fridge/ oven/ hob/ microwave/ all crockery and utensils you could wish for were provided! Beds were very comfy and made up on arrival with lovely bedding for our daughter! Lovely en-suite toilet room with a great shower! The lounge area had a comfy sofa, tv and table! Whether you were lay in bed or sat on the sofa you could still admire the views!

The location of the pod was great, a few minutes drive from cockermouth with all the shops, cafes and amenities as well as being easily accessible to the rest of the lakes!

The pod was extremely clean and we felt very safe staying here! We would highly recommend a stay here and will defiantly be returning!
