  • Units have kitchens, double beds, shower rooms and seating space
Catch you at Cragg Farm Camping Pods – at the edge of the Lake District – for a Cumbria break with cracking views out over the northern fells. This park, around a five-minute drive from Cockermouth, has well-lit accommodation suitable for families or couples in peaceful surrounds with a wealth of walking trails nearby to suit all abilities. Each pod, built from Siberian larch to trap in heat, contains a fully fitted kitchen with a sink, a two-ring induction hob, an oven, a fridge-freezer and a microwave – essentially, the main bits and bobs you need for making meals. Other amenities include a generously sized shower room with a toilet and washbasin, plus fully fitted beds. Settle in at the dining table and chairs in the living space or spread out on a comfy corner sofa that turns into a double bed. Full insulation in the roof and floor, along with double glazing and underfloor heating, helps make sure your stay is as cosy as can be. While you’re indoors and toasty, switch on the LED lights and charge your electronic devices or flick on the TV. Outside, the pod has a spacious decked area next to a patch of land reserved for parking your car, so there’s ample room for alfresco relaxing. Need supplies? Cockermouth has numerous specialist shops for stocking up, including a butcher, bakery, greengrocer and fishmonger. There are also restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

Camping pod

Liked I have visited these pods 7 times now, they are perfect pods based on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Based on a working sheep farm you are greeted by livestock and lambs on the drive up to your pod which over looks the North Western Fells. Once inside the pod, pop the kettle on make a brew ( real milk provided ) and sit out on the decking listen to nature.

I have visited these pods in every season and at every time of year including January, where the weather be be wet, windy and dark but inside the pod you have underfloor heating, everything required to cook warming comfort food an interactive tv to snuggle up and watch Netflix and chill.

In the spring the newly born lambs will keep you entertained for hours and the recent heatwave of May bank holiday 2026, the lovely owner provided electric fans to help keep the pod cool and comfortable.

You literally only need to bring towels and food for your stay.

Disliked Nothing to dislike other than having to leave. For me they are a place of escape some days I’ve never actually left the pod because I’m cozied up inside, reading, painting and switched off from the world.

No WiFi in the pods, however everytime I have stayed I have had 5g .

Camping pod

Liked By far the best pod we have stayed in, Fab views and a fantastic location on a working farm, conveniently close to Cockermouth and Keswick. It’s a really quiet, peaceful area with absolutely stunning scenery — perfect for a relaxing break.
The host, Catherine, was lovely — very chatty, friendly, and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The pods themselves were spacious, with a good-sized bathroom and a very comfortable bed, so it felt both cosy and practical.
We’ll definitely be back!

Camping pod

Liked I arrived on a wet & miserable day & the pod was beautifully warm & welcoming. It was well maintained, spotlessly clean & was filled with good quality equipment. There was milk for a brew & I settled in quickly
The location is very peaceful with views over the fells & I found my stay very relaxing. The site is well located for towns, the coast & the fells. I visited Cockermouth, Maryport & Loweswater & enjoyed a couple of walks on the lower fells, all reached within about a 20 minute drive
Catherine was welcoming & considerate. She was always contactable in case of emergencies or problems, not that I had either & it was obvious she took great pride in the business
I would highly recommend this location

Camping pod

Liked Catherine has thought of everything when it comes to these pods. The underfloor heating, milk for a cuppa, washing up liquid - you really can turn up with nothing other than the clothes you need and food!
The welcome pack was a 12/10!! Everything you need to know and Catherine included local pub/resteraunt/takeaway menus which i thought was a good touch.

All round a fantastic base for commuting into the lakes and we will be back!

Disliked I really dont have anything to dislike about here!

Local attractions

Being so close to the Lake District, there’s plenty to do while on a trip in this area. Wander around the National Trust’s Wordsworth House and Garden (10 minutes’ drive) for starters, the childhood home of one of England’s most famed poets, or point your compass towards wilder areas for ambling like Crummock and Loweswater (20 minutes). For challenging hikes, head up to Grisedale Pike (35 minutes); pedal pushers, meanwhile, should set off for the mountain bike trails in Whinlatter Forest Park (20 minutes). This spot also has a treetop adventure course and play areas for the kids. As a reward for all the roaming, have a jaunt to the Jennings Brewery Shop for tours and tastings (10 minutes). Or stick to the outdoors at the Lake District Wildlife Park (15 minutes), home to over 100 exotic animals, before rounding off your trip by checking out the views over to Scotland from the Solway Coast (45 minutes).
