What customers say
This well-maintained campsite is praised for its excellent facilities, including clean, warm shower blocks, a well-stocked shop, and great play areas for children. Its beautiful woodland setting is ideal for walks, and the location is convenient for exploring Ambleside and the wider Lake District, with a bus stop nearby. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Some guests found the touring pitches less scenic, and a few noted extra charges for electricity.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (premium)
Liked Excellent location close to Ambleside set in beautiful wooded grounds. Easy cycle access (lots of cycle paths or very quiet roads). Clean, hot showers. Drying room looked handy (although I didn’t need it). Friendly staff and onsite shop was well stocked with all the things you might need including cold beer and wine.

Great facilities, lovely setting.…
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (premium)
Liked Great facilities, lovely setting.
Disliked I didnt realise you needed a special card for the baby changing / family changing and this wasnt pointed out to me when I arrived so the code didnt work
I also wasnt given the code for the toilets on arrival.
The mens bathroom does not have a baby changing matt.
All of the above contributed to not the best experience regarding taking my 2 year old to the bathroom. I think that this could be a simple fix and built in to the information given to you when you arrive - as everyone needs the toilet code and I listed on my booking I have a young child.
