Old Rectory: Bell tent interior

General

  • Luxury six-metre bell tent in the grounds of a Georgian country house
  • A 10-minute drive from Dunstanburgh Castle; Alnwick 15 minutes
  • Continental breakfast provided (hot breakfast also available)

The Old Rectory is located in the grounds of a Georgian country house on the gorgeous Northumberland coast.

The glamping accommodation here is spacious, with a double bed and a woodburning stove, and has uninterrupted views over rolling farmland. A short walk through the woods takes you to smart shower and toilet facilities in the rectory's old outhouse.

Continental breakfast is provided, or you can order a hot breakfast butty for delivery to your tent the next day. For other meals, a barbecue area is available outside the tent, and there is a small fridge inside for storing basic provisions. Tea and coffee are provided.

Guests staying here also have a key to the main bed and breakfast, where there is a guest lounge and fully-licensed bar. If you're happy to order ahead, a dining room is also on hand where you can have dinner with the other guests.

The Old Rectory is surrounded by spectacular scenery and is only about 400 yards from the coast in the peaceful village of Howick. The slightly larger fishing village of Craster is also accessible via the coast path about 30 minutes’ walk away, where there is a tourist information centre and a pub.

Friendly owners, private and secluded location with beautiful views! Loved the fresh youghurt and granola for breakfast

    Disliked:

Alot of pigeon poo on the tent and stairs up were a bit slippy and unstable. Short walk to the beach which was lovely.

From the manager...

Thanks for your comments and very glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about the stains on the tent, I'm afraid its the crows nesting in the tress, We've cut them back as much as possible but its the downside of being located in the woods. We'll do something about those steps also. many thanks
