Bell tent

Liked The bell tent was perfectly situated to take in the views across the fields
It was very comfortable
Loved the wood burner for the evening when it got a little bit chilly , made the tent so cosy
Jude and Dave were so welcoming
We had breakfast brought to the tent which was fab and a meal in the evening which was delicious
Lots to see around the area.
We plan to visit again (probably stay in the shepherds hut next time, which looks lovely) as we could not visit everything we wanted to
Would highly recommend a visit to The Old Rectory

Bell tent

Liked Back to nature. The Bell Tent was a comfortable alternative to our normal camping. facilities provided. Option of camp cooking or guest house alternative ( with 24 hour notice). Within travelling distance of Northumbrian beauty spots, historical areas etc.

Disliked We are aware that this is a historical building, however, the window of the dovecote (shower room) may benefit from a ‘frosted’ and vented covering.

Local attractions

Straight off to the coast, you go… some smoked kippers for a snack in Craster Harbour (30 minutes' walk/five minutes' drive) first? Setting sail for the seabirds of the Farne Islands from Seahouses (40 minutes) or crossing the causeway over to Holy Island (35 minutes) for pubs, an ancient priory and castle ruins? With your first taste of a castle under your belt, there are many more to add to your wishlist, including the twin-towered Dunstanburgh Castle (10 minutes), the medieval Warkworth Castle (20 minutes) and the artefacts-packed armoury, state rooms and king’s hall at Bamburgh Castle (30 minutes). Perhaps a dose of earl grey and flower sniffing around the arboretum at Howick Hall (five minutes) is rather your cup of tea? If not, then Newcastle (an hour) might be your next port of call, as it has activities of all sorts, from trips to the theatre or sprees in the large shopping centres to tracing some of the Hadrian’s Wall path through the city centre and checking out the Tyne Bridges over the river Tyne.
