  • Peaceful adults-only rural North Yorkshire site for CAMC members only
  • Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks 10 minutes' drive
  • Dog-friendly touring pitches with easy access to footpaths
Grab your walking boots, your fishing rods, your partner, your dog… but leave the kids at home, because Gillmoor Grange Certificated Location is a peaceful site that’s available to adults only. You’ll need your Caravan and Motorhome Club membership to hand too, as the touring pitches at this small North Yorkshire site are for CAMC members only. With an acre of land to play with, that means each pitch stretches out to a generous 12 metres, giving guests plenty of space to set up their awning, gazebo and camping chairs in comfort. It’s worth noting that some pitches are slightly sloping so you may need to bring levelling blocks. Electric hookups and drinking water supplies are provided for each pitch, and you’ll have access to shared amenities including an Elsan and grey waste point, a rinsing tap and recycling bins. There’s also space set aside for visitor parking at no extra cost – handy if you’d like to have friends over to visit. This is a peaceful rural setting that’s surrounded by footpaths and bridleways, making it a particularly good spot for those who like to get out for a good walk during their break. There’s also a coarse fishing lake half a mile away, and the setting on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park puts you within easy reach of places like Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey. Shops and other amenities are about five miles away in Ripley, but there’s a pub three miles away (or a mile if you walk there along the paths) for a carvery dinner.

What customers say

This peaceful, well-maintained site offers enormous, half-serviced pitches with individual water taps and EHU, ideal for a restful break. Guests consistently praise the owner, Sam, for being a brilliant, welcoming, and exceptionally helpful host. The location is noted as quiet, with lovely views, and is a great base for dog owners, though not ideal for those seeking amenities within walking distance. Mobile and TV signal are good, but there is no WiFi.

Electric grass touring pitch (members only)

Liked This was our first time in our motorhome and we couldn't have asked to stay at a better place. We knew nothing but Sam was wonderful with us. Our electric hookup was incorrect and she very kindly lent us one. We could get anything to work and she sorted everything out for us. Without this wonderful lady our weekend away would have been a disaster

Electric grass touring pitch (members only)

Liked Enormous pitches, well-maintained, half-serviced (water to the pitches).
Lovely and peaceful.
Sam is an absolutely wonderful owner and host and simply could not be more considerate and helpful.

Disliked Nothing really, but just to point out that because it was so quiet and peaceful guests looking for anything’ on the doorstep’ on foot should think twice. If, however, you’re looking for tranquility and a wonderful host you’re on to a winner.

Electric grass touring pitch (members only)

Liked Excellent new 5 pitch caravan site with wonderful views towards Fountains Abbey. Well spaced out and neat pitches with EHU and own water tap. No WiFi but good mobile and TV signal. Very peaceful and such a friendly owner. Lovely field to walk dogs in adjoining the site. Do follow the easy instructions on how to get there from the pitchup or CAMC websites. Will definitely be returning.
