What customers say
Visitors praise the campsite's excellent cleanliness, friendly staff, and great location near Beamish Museum. Facilities, particularly the shower blocks, are frequently highlighted as outstanding and well-maintained. The site offers a secure, peaceful atmosphere, especially during weekdays, and features a good children's play area and a new clubhouse. Some guests noted issues with pitch levelling, limited electricity amps, and the cost of Wi-Fi and pet charges. A lack of bins and specific waste disposal points were also mentioned.

A nice two night stopover for a mini break. Nice and pleasant place.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Quiet location, compact and clean. Shower block was really nice and cosy, big shower area especially if sharing with a child to wash them down. Cubicle was small for getting changed in though. Easy location to drive out for visiting local areas, lots of places to walk too.
Disliked Whilst I don’t condone smoking cannabis, one of the long residential caravans was permanently smoking it, do the smell was constant, unpleasant to sit out. As our tent pitch was so close by.
WiFi was by 3rd party and you had to pay for it. Which meant any kids wanting to use devices had no access to WiFi without payment.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Atmosphere and facilities. The new clubhouse is good. The place was clean and well maintained, staff are all lovely.
Disliked There was a limit on the amps on the power hookup (6 amps) - we made do and it was manageable, but it did stop us boiling the kettle! It as mentioned on booking but I missed it until we arrived (my bad!)

We stayed on the touring site and would stay again.
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked Friendly staff, good play area for children. Secure as site had barriers to get in and out. Pleasant surroundings
Disliked Toilet block could do with a refresh as shower rails and plug holes were rusty. Would benefit from someone checking/cleaning in the afternoon as toilets and showers needed cleaning later in the day, hairdryer not working in the shower block
