What customers say
This campsite offers a clean, friendly atmosphere with great showers and washrooms, often called warm and modern. Staff are noted as welcoming and helpful. Its closeness to Beamish Museum is a big plus. However, some guests mentioned issues with level pitches, Wi-Fi costs, and occasional crowding. Chemical waste points need updating. Pet fees and limited dog hours in the clubhouse were concerns for some.

Liked Toilet and shower block is really well maintained and kept clean.
Site in general is really lovely.
Bar onsite is brilliant.
All staff were really nice.
We had a great time here and will be back
Disliked Fri and sat nights were both quite noisy and children playing on the park until about 1030 with no sign of any security staff challenging people for being noisy late into the night unlike other sites we’ve been to.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Lovely clean facilities. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location for visiting beamish which is why we booked it.
Disliked We thought this was overpriced. No dedicated gray water disposal points for motorhomes. Only one Chemical waste point absolutely filthy with no way of cleaning - fixed tap with no hose. Pitches very small lots or tents cramped together.

FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Quiet and relaxing
Disliked Didn't like people passing through our pitch it was like a footpath out side the van door

Great site but wasnt a fan of the gypsy wagon.
Gypsy wagon
Liked Great playground.
Shower block is cleaned to a high standard.
Compact but well laid out site.
I would stay in the carvan or tents again like I have previously.
Bar is probably the cleanest and most modern clubhouse ive ever been too.
Disliked Gypsy caravan isnt in the best condition it could be. Net curtain wire hanging down with no curtain. Mould on the door. Huge gaps in the wood. Piece of awkwardly laid wood at top of the stairs resulted in me falling down from the top and banging my head on the ground an hour after arriving. Subsequently I now have a concussion.
Email booking confirmation states that a £10 deposit is needed but it was actually £20 for the deposit (I arrived with £18 cash and a bank app that wasnt working. This kind of ruined the first hour of being there trying to transfer cash from my savings to pay a deposit higher than expected).
