What customers say
This campsite offers a simple, relaxed, and quiet camping experience with good value for money. Guests appreciated the ability to have bonfires, the availability and reasonable price of firewood, and the friendly, unobtrusive staff. The location is highly praised for its proximity to the coastal path and beaches, making it ideal for exploring. Facilities are described as basic but functional and generally kept clean, with some reviewers noting they could benefit from an upgrade. Some visitors were initially put off by the entrance appearance, describing it as junkyard-like, but found the camping field itself to be pleasant and not overcrowded. Overall, it is recommended for those seeking a back-to-basics, natural camping getaway.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Best thing ever was that they set up metal barrels that we were allowed to use to make a fire in. They also sold wood which was not a rip off it was real good value. Very simple and basic, a field with trees around, nice and quiet and not crowded. I liked that is was simple, not loads of over the top mod cons. Could chose where you wanted to pitch, it is a good place for tents or vehicles that have thier own electric. Staff were friendly and let you get on with it, they were not fussy or moany. Very cheep too. It was off the beaten track but we still was able to get there on foot using bus and walking.
Disliked I was nervous on entering as i did not know where to go, Need a sign saying reception here or this way to entrance type of thing, i ended up walking through junk and rubbish because i saw a hut that i thought was the reception, but it was not anyway. If there was a sign saying this way... i would have carried on going forward and had seen the owners house/huts.

Great open spaces, plenty of choice to choose where to camp
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Absolutely loved the camping site and was so happy it hasn’t changed much since my childhood. Every year my church would have our children/youth camp there. The facilities are old but they function just fine. And the place is so atmospheric with easy access to lovely walks. The camp site is very laid back atmosphere with no pressure.
Disliked We were hoping to see lamas as one person had photos of them on there review but we weren’t to bummed out.

We'd definitely stay again if we head back towards that area.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Easy to find, we travelled via train and bus. The local Coast Hopper bus service stopped about 5-10 minute walk away.
The staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. It was just myself and my son and as we had no car we were told we could get in touch with the owner if we needed anything, even a lift which was very lovely. Although we walked and used the bus mostly.
The site was lovely, quiet and had all we needed.
Near to the local bus route and coastal walk way.
Disliked I can't think of anything.

Enjoyable stay.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Friendly staff who guided us to where we could pitch our tent . Excellent toilet and shower facilities. Clean and hygienica. Washing up area outside with hot and cold water . Easy accessible drinking water tap. A small shop selling home made products i.e oats milk. Bricks provided to put fire pit on . There was their factory next door , heard little noise as camping fenced off.
Disliked Only 1 thing what I found wrong was one of the showers wasn't giving out hot water .

Disliked Nothing to dislike, only thing would be more toilets and showers available but even so facilities were adequate.

Nothing…

Liked Nothing
Disliked As another reviewer already added, the pictures are not accurate, we are from an equestrian background, so more than used to an outside environment. This site in our opinion should not be on this website, having wildcamped at numerous locations would consider that a better option. To say it's an eyesore with dilapidated facilities would be an understatement, in all honesty I wouldn't wildcamp here, packed in like sardines, views of steptoes yard, filthy , absolutely stinks like raw sewrage, abandoned caravans and vehicles to look at, drove in and immediately out and found somewhere else to stay . The guy that met us was very informative about the local area and very nice , but I would not in any way shape or form recommend this site

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Basic facilities, but adequate and kept clean . Pleasant field not crowded. Easy access to coastal path and 20 minutes stroll to Trimingham beach. Space to walk the Labrador adjacent. Owners were welcoming . Will definitely be back.
Disliked One shower too cramped and 1( of 3) toilet out of action.

Liked Lovely Campsite in nature & fresh sea air. Great Location in a quiet area & a short walk to the beach. Stunning views from the Campsite as it’s high up. The owner was a really nice guy, very welcoming & helpful. Basic facilities but very reasonably priced overall. Cheap & good firewood for sale.
Disliked Facilities were basic but fine & I can’t complain for the price & location.
