Anglers and adventurers, get ready, because Fendicks Fishery is a stunning Norfolk site with five well-stocked fishing lakes and a mature woodland, just half an hour’s drive from Thetford Forest. Out there, there’s plenty of adventuring to be done, with High Lodge and its Go Ape centre as a good starting point. There's a well-balanced atmosphere at this site, as the team have worked hard over the years to manage and landscape the grounds so that there’s a good combination of nature and fishing. Anglers have access to five lakes with a variety of fish up for grabs, including catfish (weighing in at over 95 lbs), carp, tench, silverfish and more. With 32 acres of mature woodland surrounding the lake, peaceful and scenic are two words that accurately Fendicks Fishery. Plus, there’s a splendid set-up in terms of facilities, with a toilet and shower block that’s kept toasty by underfloor heating, a washing-up area, washing machines, information room, Elsan points and the reception area. All the grassy pitches have access to electric hook-up (how handy). When you’re not unwinding around the acres of space around this well-kept site or spending an afternoon fishing, you could take off onto the miles of paths around Thetford Forest or head further out onto the Norfolk coast, which will take you around an hour’s drive or just over.

  • Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

Liked Firt time at Fendicks and couldn't have had a better experience. Needed somewhere that my son and I could fish whilst the wife and daughter had somewhere clean, well kept to enjoy. Fendicks gave us everything.
Fellow Anglers were welcoming especially 2 who are regulars and left me some bait for the cats. Special mention for the chorizo I was given worked a treat. Staff friendly, funny and helpful. We ate at the restaurant and was great quality. Now you'll read about the showers and it's true at certain times water is poor, however, they are working on it with the water board amd we found a shower that was ok. We lived every minute and can't wait to come back

Lavender cabin

Liked Loved how when you get there, the time slows down and you feel like you’ve been there for a long time. So relaxing and peacfull. We will keep coming back to recharge.

Liked The space was great. Extremely friendly staff and owners.

Disliked Maybe could do with a shop on site, but this isn’t a big deal.
The site is very family friendly, but a play park would really help with bored kids.

Liked We loved everything about Fendicks.It such a lovely friendly place. Everything was so clean and well kept. On site bar and cafe was an added bonus. We was also there to fish and it did t disappoint biggest being a 33 and a half pound cat fish 😊
There is regular events going on to also keep you entertained while you’re there.
We will definitely be going here again.
We spotted some beautiful loges too.

Liked Very spacious park, onsite bar and restaurant. There’s close toilets and shower facilities regardless where you set up. Very affordable too! Even if you don’t fish, you’ll not be out of place.

Disliked Take a bug spray as the lakes attract bugs that like to bite!
The toilet roll situation became serious on our last night, not easy to find more roll at midnight.

Site is remote on a main road.No good for walkers but good fishing.

Liked Lovely camping ground. Very tidy. Friendly staff. Nice bar and cafe on site. Good fishing lakes for those that fish

Disliked Showers are useless and the cleaner was in there at 0915, way to early to clean as site was very busy.

Local attractions

Head to High Lodge (half an hour’s drive) to kickstart your tour of Thetford Forest. There are all sorts of ways to become one with the forest, from hiring out a Segway, taking an archery lesson or finding your zen with forest yoga. Go Ape Thetford (half an hour) will require a little bravery and some acrobatic skills for its treetop courses and zipwires, but on the ground, there are three cycling trails and four footpaths to follow from High Lodge. If you’re looking to find some places where the kids are likely to be entertained, Banham Zoo (35 minutes) is one such place, as are Melsop Farm Park (35 minutes) and Church Farm Stow Bardolph (15 minutes), two farm parks with a variety of animals and farm-style activities. A day at the coast is also possible from this site… just pick your seafront of choice. Perhaps Hunstanton (55 minutes) and Cromer (an hour and 20 minutes) to the north, or Great Yarmouth (an hour and 10 minutes) to the east? Towards the coast is Bressingham Steam & Gardens (40 minutes), a nice choice to see working steam locomotives in the flesh.
