General

  • Award-winning, peaceful and rural site
  • Camping meadow and main building both wheelchair accessible
  • Licensed shop, restaurant and bar

The Old Brick Kilns is a peaceful, award-winning and rural site, mostly sheltered, and divided into woody pockets and open areas. It has a wildlife pond, landscaped garden areas and natural wildflower bankings.

The camping meadow has grass pitches and is accessible by car and a gently sloping walkway, suitable for wheelchairs, directly opposite the restaurant. An adults-only field is also available, along with wifi on all pitches and a token operated laundry system: please ask for tokens at reception.

The reception desk, shop and first aid post are in the main building, on the left as you drive in. There's access into all areas of the main building for wheelchairs along firm pathways. In a separate wooden building next to reception you'll ind a large map of the area along with a wealth of information on local attractions and places to visit as well as a selection of books and DVDs to rent.

The shop, which has an off-licence, supplies most basic foodstuffs, toiletries, homemade produce and fresh bread; hot croissants and papers can be ordered in the afternoon, to be collected at reception the following morning. It also stocks sweets, drinks, ice cream, gas, caravan accessories, maps, stamps and local crafts. The restaurant and bar area is generally open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from mid-March to the end of September, so please ask for specific times when you book your stay or when you arrive on site.

There's lots more around for those who need a little additional entertainment, including fishing, a fenced children’s play area with chipped bark, table tennis, a pool table, and a games/TV room.

Everything! The camp was lovely with well kept flower beds and everything was clean and tidy. The shower block was scrupulously clean and I never once had to wait to use either the toilet or shower. In a great location to travel around. The restaurant served lovely meals at reasonable prices.

    Disliked:
