  • Award-winning, peaceful rural site 15 minutes from Fakenham
  • Pitches and main facilities all wheelchair accessible
  • Half an hour's drive from the beaches of the Norfolk coast
The kilns may be old but the facilities – them’s all set for the 21st century. In fact, The Old Brick Kilns has got things so well sorted it’s even won awards for its offerings. All your everyday needs have been considered by the thoughtful folk at this peaceful rural site: there's a launderette that takes card payments, a tourist info point stacked with handy pointers and first-rate washrooms with underfloor heating. The shop’s shelves are filled with various essentials and treats, and you can call in a day ahead to order warm bread and fresh croissants for a leisurely breakfast. If you’re here at the right time, site staff can sort your evening drinks too: the bar is open on certain nights, with ales and ciders up for grabs. Should you choose to lounge about on site for a bit (as indeed you should…) there are wildflower meadows to skip through and a fishing pond that you’re welcome to dangle your rod into for a small charge. A playground, table tennis and games room are all on hand for the entertainment of small people. This nifty Norfolk location, 15 minutes from Fakenham, has you well placed for all sorts of outings too – beaches, nature reserves and stately homes are all within a half-hour drive. Guests travelling with wheelchairs or buggies will be chuffed to note that this is a pleasingly accessible site, with plenty of ramps and firm pathways to aid manoeuvres around the place.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained and very clean campsite with spacious pitches and excellent facilities, particularly the modern, spotless toilet and shower blocks. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly and helpful. Guests enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, adult-only areas, on-site bar and takeaway, and convenient location for exploring Norfolk. While some minor issues like occasional Wi-Fi issues, narrow access roads, and limited bar opening times were noted, the overwhelming sentiment is positive, with many visitors expressing a strong desire to return.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Really enjoyed our couple of days. Lovely site. Facilities.

Disliked On the electric tent area far right where gates are the pitch on right could do with being a bit more level ground. Just slightly.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (adults only, super)

Liked We recently stayed at The Old Brick Kilns, Norfolk, and had a fantastic experience. Barney’s Bar serves some amazing burgers and is a real highlight of the site. The campsite is very dog-friendly, with plenty of space on the pitches and a welcoming atmosphere throughout.
The grounds are beautifully maintained, with colourful flower borders, neatly trimmed grass, and a real sense of pride in the surroundings. The toilet and shower facilities are spotless, and the showers have excellent water pressure
Having a well-stocked shop on site and Barney’s Bar available on selected days is a huge bonus and adds to the overall experience. We can’t wait to return and have already started looking at booking again. Highly recommended *****

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (adults only)

Liked A great site & extremely good value for money. Our second visit & definitely not our last. Ideal for a quiet break especially if you're in the adults only area. The only thing that cost the site a star was some inconsiderate dog owners who used the dog walk, let their dogs run off lead & never cleaned up after them or left poop bags hanging from branches, when there's plenty of dog waste bins about. Not the fault of the site, but maybe some clearer enforcement notices are needed.

Dell fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Very peaceful with very good facilities that are very clean and tidy. Average sized pitch with everything you’d need. Didn’t visit the bar as was only staying one night and it’s open for a limited time. Will definitely return again.

Disliked WiFi was better than some campsites but does dip out sometimes.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (adults only, super)

Liked 2nd visit to this site really good all amenities are of a very good standard nice and quite in the Adults area this time we had a pitch opposite our last one which was not level easily sorted, but it was smaller so next time we would like pitch number 9 bigger and level just for info

Disliked Dislike is the wrong word so a suggestion is that i feel the hand dryer in the men's toilets are past there sale by date and could do with a series upgrade seems a slight thing but it would be appreciated

Local attractions

The good folk of Norfolk know a thing or two about gorgeous coastlines, so it’s highly recommended that you bag a bit of beach time while you’re here: the great sandy swathes at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham are both about half an hour away by car. With coast comes wildlife, and the places to find creatures around here are the RSPB reserve at Titchwell Marsh (35 minutes’ drive) and the boat trips that leave Morston Quay (20 minutes) to see England’s biggest seal colony, which hangs out on or around Blakeney Point. It’s not all about the coast, however – inland’s got plenty of treats to offer too: give the royals a wave at Sandringham (half an hour’s drive), wander through 100 acres of fragrant lavender fields in Heacham (35 minutes) and sniff out some history at medieval Walsingham (15 minutes) or the stately homes Blickling Estate and Houghton Hall (both 25 minutes).
