The Old Bush: Spacious serviced pitches

General

  • Small site in the grounds of a Callow End traditional village pub
  • A 15-minute drive from the Malvern Hills and Worcester
  • Large beer garden with outdoor tables, play area and chickens

For those couples/travelling parties that frequently face disagreement over whose turn it is to be designated driver, there’s really only one sensible solution: bed down right there at the pub.

Dozing off at the bar might be considered a little unseemly, so The Old Bush’s owners Matt and Karen have come up with a better solution and set up pitches in the garden area behind their rural Worcestershire pub. Thus guests can partake of dinners accompanied by a few local ales/ciders before strolling home (to a peaceful corner with drinking water, showers and 24-hour toilets) in just a couple of minutes – how civilised.

In fact, the whole setup here is rather civilised: The Old Bush is a traditional country pub in the little village of Callow End, with food available at lunch and dinner times, plus a menu of mini meals for smaller guests. On warmer days the merriment spills out into the garden, where there’s a play area, an aviary and a little flock of chickens along with plenty of tables for open-air drinking, dining and admiring the views over the Malvern hills.

Of course, one can’t sit around in the pub all day (well, maybe not every day, anyway…), so it’s worth noting that this is also a handy location for walks, horse riding, games of golf, fishing and days out in Worcester and Malvern (both 15 minutes away by car). Handily, if you do ‘accidentally’ sup one too many at lunchtime there’s a bus stop in the village so you can still get out and about.

Please note

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

If you intend to eat at the pub in autumn/winter, please book a table in advance.

The location was really lovely with nice views from the site, it was peaceful but located close to other amenities. The Aviary was great, it was a very large cage with wooden panels at the end. All of the little birds flying around and what was really nice is that they had holes in the wooden panels to let the birds in and out.
The toilets and showers were very clean and secure for campsite residents.
The shop was well stocked with local produce and the café seemed to very popular.
The Pub was welcoming and served good food (and the beer was good too :)).
All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful and we would definitely go back there.

This was such an awesome place to stay. Motorhome pitch with EHU, and 24 hour toilets / showers, which is unusual for a pub stop.
Lovely friendly pub, plus cafe and farm shop open all day. Great breakfasts.
Very nice rural location with nice walking routes.

I rang ahead as my 4 year old is currently using a wheelchair and they could not have been more accommodating. This was a chance for us to test run our t4 and everything was fab from the electrical hookup, onsite shop, play area, outstandingly clean wash facilities and the food in the pub was very nice and reasonably priced.

The staff were fantastic with my little girl and went out of their way to chat to her and make her very welcome. Fabulous family friendly site and we will be back 👍🏼

Everything. We had borrowed a van so werent used to campervanning. The site was level with a good view of the Malverns. They lent us a hook up cable as ours was too short. They now run a very well stocked shop and deli.
We eat at the pub which felt safe in these time of CV19,had an app to see the menu and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
Our girls even made use of the playground despite the rain
Showers/toilets were clean and secure...a few small steps might make them less accessible for peopke with mobility problems
The place looks to be expanding too with glamping pods and new sheds..
We felt we'd found a little gem of a place
