The Old Bush: Pitches up high so great views (photo added by spencer_r295485 on 02/02/2020)

General

  • Small site in the grounds of a Callow End traditional village pub
  • A 15-minute drive from the Malvern Hills and Worcester
  • Large beer garden with outdoor tables, play area and chickens

For those couples/travelling parties that frequently face disagreement over whose turn it is to be designated driver, there’s really only one sensible solution: bed down right there at the pub.

Dozing off at the bar might be considered a little unseemly, so The Old Bush’s owners Matt and Karen have come up with a better solution and set up pitches in the garden area behind their rural Worcestershire pub. Thus guests can partake of dinners accompanied by a few local ales/ciders before strolling home (to a peaceful corner with drinking water, showers and 24-hour toilets) in just a couple of minutes – how civilised.

In fact, the whole setup here is rather civilised: The Old Bush is a traditional country pub in the little village of Callow End, with food available at lunch and dinner times, plus a menu of mini meals for smaller guests. On warmer days the merriment spills out into the garden, where there’s a play area, an aviary and a little flock of chickens along with plenty of tables for open-air drinking, dining and admiring the views over the Malvern hills.

Of course, one can’t sit around in the pub all day (well, maybe not every day, anyway…), so it’s worth noting that this is also a handy location for walks, horse riding, games of golf, fishing and days out in Worcester and Malvern (both 15 minutes away by car). Handily, if you do ‘accidentally’ sup one too many at lunchtime there’s a bus stop in the village so you can still get out and about.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

The bar is open between 01/01 and 31/12.

If you intend to eat at the pub, please let the site know once onsite so you can book a table in advance.

A lovely welcome from the shop staff upon arrival. Every single person were so friendly & made us feel welcome. The nicest bit of all was that not only the staff made sure we were ok during Friday night but so did all the locals. This location had a lovely village environment & a great community spirit.
Perfect little site, with a shop & small cafe inside & a pub.

Lovely pub with friendly and helpful staff and nothing was too much bother. Made to feel very welcome on arrival and also nice atmosphere during our meal. Food was great especially the home made Mint chocolate chip ice cream (please start selling at the already well stocked onsite shop)
Very well maintained site and pitches were very good. Everything you need a for relaxing stay.
Added bonus was the amazing musician "Jules" who was performing in the bar.

A brilliant site, so glad we chose it for our weekend away. Pitches are level and the aviary and water features give the site a lovely feel. The pub has lots of character, serving good food and the on-site village shop/deli is an added bonus especially as it opens Saturday and Sunday. Staff in the pub and shop are very friendly. Great local walks for the dog.

We arrived at The Old Bush, welcomed warmly and given a choice of spots of the few there within well maintained and beautiful setting. The facilities are well maintained and showers were clean and hot. We booked into the pub for dinner, which was very reasonable and very filling very much recommend. The Shop on site catered for all and with a Breakfast menu with local produce it was a great start to our day.
