Spacious serviced pitches

General

  • Small site in the grounds of a Callow End traditional village pub
  • A 15-minute drive from the Malvern Hills and Worcester
  • Large beer garden with outdoor tables, play area and chickens

For those couples/travelling parties that frequently face disagreement over whose turn it is to be designated driver, there’s really only one sensible solution: bed down right there at the pub.

Dozing off at the bar might be considered a little unseemly, so The Old Bush’s owners Matt and Karen have come up with a better solution and set up pitches in the garden area behind their rural Worcestershire pub. Thus guests can partake of dinners accompanied by a few local ales/ciders before strolling home (to a peaceful corner with drinking water, showers and 24-hour toilets) in just a couple of minutes – how civilised.

In fact, the whole setup here is rather civilised: The Old Bush is a traditional country pub in the little village of Callow End, with food available at lunch and dinner times, plus a menu of mini meals for smaller guests. On warmer days the merriment spills out into the garden, where there’s a play area, an aviary and a little flock of chickens along with plenty of tables for open-air drinking, dining and admiring the views over the Malvern hills.

Of course, one can’t sit around in the pub all day (well, maybe not every day, anyway…), so it’s worth noting that this is also a handy location for walks, horse riding, games of golf, fishing and days out in Worcester and Malvern (both 15 minutes away by car). Handily, if you do ‘accidentally’ sup one too many at lunchtime there’s a bus stop in the village so you can still get out and about.

Please note

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

If you intend to eat at the pub in autumn/winter, please book a table in advance.

Thank you for your kind review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I am afraid the play area id sodden and we are trying to protect the grass at the moment, hopefully we will get some dry weather soon :)

    Disliked:

A minor one but compulsory reversing onto pitches - couldn't park with poptop sloping with the wind and had to lower it as it was very windy night.

From the manager...

Many thanks for the kind review, we would let you of drive on front first if you had asked. It is just that is save our gravel grid from people reversing up the slop on the way out,

OMG, my idea of heaven. Motorhome pitches in a beautiful rural location, 50 mtrs from a great village pub (in their extensive garden). The pub itself is fantastic, traditional but not old fashioned. Dog friendly. Good real ales. Fantastic home cooked food (recommend the chilli and the chicken in onion & cajan spices in a cream sauce. Chips great also, dry & crispy).

Rare these days, but both nights the pub was almost full at 6:30. Great atmosphere with nice background music and plenty of chatter. Even has a log burner on the go. Owner & his staff really friendly and helpful. Wish this pub was in my village!

Modern, clean toilet/shower rooms. Pitches are up high, so you get the feel of staying on a hill with great views.

This is definitely going to be on my top 3 weekend breaks list.
