General

  • Set in spectacular surroundings in the Teme Valley
  • Wake up to a 'must be heard to be believed' dawn chorus
  • Abundance of wildlife: birds, butterflies, foxes, badgers and deer

There are quite a few unique factors about a stay at Hidden Valley in the Worcestershire countryside: the owners are keen campers themselves so know of what they speak.

First up is the space: cramming pitch upon pitch into a field is very much frowned upon at this small family-run place, so you'll find the accommodation options scattered secludedly around a wild and ancient nine-acre orchard: no clubhouses, no caravans and no close neighbours here...

Second, the stargazing... this is enormous Teme Valley sky and where you'll be able a to spot galaxies rather than a cluster of mere stars; you could lie back under the sky here and imagine you're anywhere on the planet.

And third, the dawn chorus. The thousands of birds here will be chirping in greeting as soon as the sun starts to seep through your tent canvas... the owners say it has to be heard to be believed, and you'll likely reckon they're right.

Hidden Valley has a shower, a composting toilet and a washing-up area. Barbecues and campfires are both allowed; for valley drinks, the pub local to the site is within walking distance.

Please note

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

The owners were very helpful and couldn't have done any more to make sure our stay was as relaxing and perfect as possible. From helping us bring our kit down on the quad to to honesty shop, everything that could be thought of to make the weekend more enjoyable was, and I look forward to my next stay. Solar hot showers, clean toilets, fire pits provided and a beautifully unpolluted sky full of stars, what's not to love?

We stayed in a bell tent for 2 nights and had an amazing time. We'd planned to go to the safari but I wish we'd had more time at the camp site now. We're a family of four - two parents and two kiddies of 5yrs and 18 months old.

Not only did the tent have everything we needed but it was spotless. (There was more included than listed). Simon and Jan were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Simon took our stuff from our car to the tent on his quad bike and trailer and Jan took it back up on the day we had to pack up and leave.

The site is beautiful and quiet, the toilet and shower clean and the honesty shop just what we needed for the extra bits and bobs. Great value for money, we're definitely going back. I almost don't want to tell anyone else about it so we don't have issues booking in the future!

The friendly and warm welcome. The bell tents were perfect. We loved the small stove inside the tent and the fire pit with tripod and Dutch oven. The location of the bell tents is lovely. So too are the pitches in the bottom field. Watching the family of buzzards and the flock of siskins during the day and the meteor shower at night was a highlight.

We have always loved camping but in recent years (on-set of old age!) had decided that we no longer wanted to have the work of a typical camping holiday and therefore sold all our equipment, not without some mis-givings, I might add. We really love being close to nature; grass on your doorstep, bird song, walking the beaten track and escaping the noise of traffic and crowds. How difficult this is to find in most alternative holiday settings!

We had previously rejected the idea of 'glamping' as we disliked it's 'life-style' connotation - then I found 'Hidden Valley'. Thank you Jan and Simon for managing to give back to us those intense feelings of childhood! Flaming fire pits and outdoor cooking! Starry nights and hooting owls! Following the light and shade of sun and showers through canvas! Cosy candle-lit nights around the woodburner! Perfect antidote to 21st century living! Well done!

We liked everything about our stay at Hiddenvalley! We do a lot of camping but as a surprise birthday and anniversary treat for my partner I booked a couple of nights glamping in one of the bell tents. What a treat! A bed and ikea under a canvas. Very tastefully knitted out. She said it was the best birthday she has ever had! Tranquil, romantic, nature at its best. The owners in our opinion have got the balance just right . Very clean, not too busy. The compost loo adds to the nature experience ( don't let it put you off) and the honesty shop was handy and restores your faith in human nature. The views stunning and one of the best skies at night I've seen for years . I would definitely recommend camping and glamping at Hidden valley. Thank you so much.

The bell tent we stayed in was in a perfect setting, overlooking mature trees and a hill in the distance. Even had a rainbow on the first night. Only one other bell tent shared our field which made our stay very special. Loved the log burner and stove which heated up without any effort to make fried eggs and soup - perfect quick camping food! Comfortable bed and all kitchen equipment necessary. Logs and kindling very reasonable. Helpful and friendly host. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back.
