General

  • Set in spectacular surroundings in the Teme Valley
  • Wake up to a 'must be heard to be believed' dawn chorus
  • Abundance of wildlife: birds, butterflies, foxes, badgers and deer

There are quite a few unique factors about a stay at Hidden Valley in the Worcestershire countryside: the owners are keen campers themselves so know of what they speak.

First up is the space: cramming pitch upon pitch into a field is very much frowned upon at this small family-run place, so you'll find the accommodation options scattered secludedly around a wild and ancient nine-acre orchard: no clubhouses, no caravans and no close neighbours here...

Second, the stargazing... this is enormous Teme Valley sky and where you'll be able a to spot galaxies rather than a cluster of mere stars; you could lie back under the sky here and imagine you're anywhere on the planet.

And third, the dawn chorus. The thousands of birds here will be chirping in greeting as soon as the sun starts to seep through your tent canvas... the owners say it has to be heard to be believed, and you'll likely reckon they're right.

Hidden Valley has a shower, a composting toilet and a washing-up area. Barbecues and campfires are both allowed; for valley drinks, the pub local to the site is within walking distance.

Please note

Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.

the calm, tranquility of the area.
the compost toilet, was kept very clean.

Were thinking of booking again for next year in April to stay in a bell tent as they looked amazing and would lessen the need to bring so much with us, and make sure we stayed for the whole weekend, dusk till dawn.

What would make this better would be the introduction of a hot tub spa, overlooking those hills with a glass of bubbly would be perfect.

    Disliked:

Partner didn't like the compost toilet and no hot tap in basin but found the washing up facilities clean and the water hot.

Having to trek all of our stuff across the grass in a wheelbarrow as cars were not allowed next to pitches.

Absolutely everything, having stayed here before with friends last year I knew it was the perfect place to bring my wife and 2 year old son for his first ever camping trip. We chose to make the short but physical trip down into the valley (there is the option of a taxi service for all your equipment in a quad bike trailer, but we went for the old school wheelbarrows). Having set up just in front of two arching apple trees, which provided as fresh as possible healthy snacks throughout the day for our son, we got to relax and take in the fact that we practically had the entire valley to ourselves. So peaceful, just the chorus of nature to keep you company. There’s a lovely walk down through the woods and then up over some hills, and quite a lot to do in the area as long as you’re willing to travel a few miles by car first.
The honesty shop is a life saver, from storing wood bundles and kindling packs for the fire, (yes you can actually have fires here, they even hire out fire pits!) to food supplies and even ice creams. It’s great to stock up throughout you’re stay.
Solar shower which is basic and all you need, along with the compost toilet which is always clean.
The owners remembered me from last time, and will probably recognise me when I turn up again next year!
If you want to just get away from the stress of everyday life, look no further. No WiFi, very little phone signal in the valley and no electric hook up means it’s the perfect time to switch off and enjoy each other.
Our son loved basically having this huge garden right on his doorstep, and he didn’t want to leave.

    Disliked:

That we can’t stay there forever!

I went to Hidden Valley with my daughter and her friend's little girl. From the moment we arrived we felt very warmly welcomed and delighted by the scenery, the size of the pitches, the fire basket . We were helped across the field to our chosen spot set up , sat down and made fire. Perfection. Small child found another small child and they had a Blytonesque time flying kites and making a lot of noise in perfect safety. The surrounding area is full of interesting places to visit - we went to Go Ape in the Wyre Forest and Tenbury to paddle in the river. The facilities at the site were spotless and eco without being spartan and the honesty shop a delight - with endless supplies of great bags of wood to buy at a competitive price. Nothing about this site felt exploitative, it was generous, quiet (apart from us) and very friendly. Thank you.
