If this sounds like the kind of thing dreams are made of, take a look at Stratford Parks Holiday Park, a peaceful and plant-filled site on the River Avon in the Warwickshire countryside. The park's Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant has a delicious variety of food and drink, as well as events throughout the high season and on some weekends. There's a multi-sports pitch on site for family games and over a mile and half of free river fishing for those who want to spend a peaceful afternoon on the river banks. A daily river taxi service also runs from Stratford Parks Holiday Park to Stratford-upon-Avon, where there are Shakespeare attractions and lots of places to eat or shop. Arriving with a furry companion? There are also designated dog-walking areas on site.

Liked: Had a lovely pitch escorted by a lovely friendly warden, the water taxi to take us into Stratford was an added bonus, also a nice flat walk in an evening, shower block clean and tidy. All in all couldn’t fault the place

Disliked: Sorry but nothing to dislike

Liked: Well run park with an excellent clubhouse, great river taxi to Stratford with a lovely driver. Great size pitch, clean and shower block was excellent, warm and clean. Staff friendly. Will definitely return.

Riverfront electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Location was ideal for exploring Stratford upon Avon. Walk into town in 20 mins. Water taxi was great, and the chaps who drive the boats are lovely and have lots of local information/gossip!
Nice level pitches, we were riverside and very pretty surroundings.
Toilet and shower block, very good and kept very clean.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.... we'd normally stay in smaller, more characterful campsites. This is is a big touring park. There was a bit of noise from the club house, and the entertainment, but it didn't worry us. Despite the size of the place, it was reasonably quiet and very friendly.

Beehive camping pod

Liked: Amazing site , very clean, very well kept, friendly helpful polite staff , great club with some good acts on. Toilets and shower block spotless, nice hot water . Couldn't fault the place

Disliked: The hut we rented wasn't much to it but overall a nice weekend

Liked: A very warm welcome, all the staff on site were friendly and helpful. The water taxi into Stratford was excellent - what a great way to arrive!
Great food in the bar and good value if using one of the offers available.
Eg. “Burger Monday” any burger and a beer or wine for £16.

Disliked: Smoking on the bar terrace, it was a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the scenery, but the cigarette smoke from the smoking area just seemed to hug the building and you couldn’t escape the smell if you sat on any of the tables on the same side as the smoking area.

Liked: Shown to your pitch upon arrival .
Warm and spotlessly clean showers .
Used the river taxi into town which was lovely and the driver was very friendly.
Good dog exercise field too.
Plenty of pitches which are fairly level.
Very clean and friendly site.
We would stay again.

Disliked: Could do with an onsite shop for the little bits we always forget .

Local attractions

For a change from the river taxi, guests can stroll into Stratford-upon-Avon to take in a play from the Royal Shakespeare Company, have a flutter at the races, or visit the many Shakespeare sights dotted around the city. There’s also excellent retail therapy to be had here, as well as in the elegant surrounding towns of Cheltenham, Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick.  Sporty types will find golf courses, swimming pools and many other facilities nearby, and of course there are plenty of good walking opportunities along the river and out into the lovely Warwickshire countryside. Further along the banks of the Avon are the stately country house of Charlecote Park, and winsome Warwick Castle, which has plenty of things to do and see for all ages. Also nearby are the majestic ruins of Kenilworth Castle, where Robert Dudley and Elizabeth I used to make out; or you could follow in the footsteps of the Gunpowder Plotters of 1605 with a visit to Coughton Court. At the Ragley Hall Estate, visitors can take a tour of the Palladian mansion, go sculpture spotting in the Capability Brown parkland, or lose themselves in the 3D maze. The site is also a great base from which to explore the villages and landscapes of the Cotswolds.
