Wander in the fruit orchards

General

  • Peaceful glamping site on a farm 20 minutes' walk from Snitterfield
  • Within 15 minutes' drive of Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle
  • Barbecues and kitchen provided; farm shop and café on site

Well now, here’s a dilemma – settle in for a pie and pint at the local hostelry, grab some farm cider to accompany the sausages sizzling on the barbie or wander over to the site's own café for something cooked up using fresh local produce.

All options are equally appealing at The Apple Farm, a peaceful glamping site on a 60-acre farm and orchard three miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. From here it’s a leisurely 20-minute stroll to the village of Snitterfield for meals and drinks in the friendly pub, or to pick up local produce in the village shop. A 10-minute walk from your digs is The Farm, which has a farm shop and café as well as assorted farm antics to get stuck in with.

Back at base alfresco evenings are a cinch, as each of the site’s units has its own barbecue and firepit, along with utensils and a kettle to brew up a cuppa. Each also has a covered outdoor table and chairs to keep you cosy on less clement nights, and there are further kitchen facilities (including a gas stove and washing-up sink) a short walk away in the renovated static caravan that houses the bathroom facilities.

There’s heaps of space to ramble around on site – might you entice the kids to go off-grid with the idea of spotting bunnies, deer and a little fairy kingdom as they roam around? Heading out, there are fishing lakes next door and plenty of easy day trips around Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.

Beautiful surroundings, clean facilities, friendly owners. 26/02/2019

This is the most beautiful site. We were the last guests before the site closed for the winter and stayed in a large tent with 2 double beds. The accommodation is spacious and in a gorgeous spot. Our tent was among the Apple trees in the orchards, with a barbecue and fire pit available. We were the only people on the site and it felt completely secluded but totally safe.
The facilities are housed in a re-purposed static caravan, where we found 2 bathrooms, one with a large bath and the other a shower. The hot water supply was solid. There are also gas cooking hobs, pots, pans, and a kettle. There were also free tea and coffee equipment. There are even a range of games to entertain the children, spare wellies to borrow, and a range of leaflet about local attractions and walks. On our first morning, my husband took the children up to the facilities block and two fawns bounced out from between the trees in front of the before running off through the apple trees. Utterly wonderful.
The owners of the site went out of their way to make us welcome and provided extra duvets and blankets as it was October and a bit on the chilly side.
The site is a fantastic base for exploring the local area. We went to Stratford-upon-Avon for the day and went through the markets, the butterfly house, and an amazing cheese shop. We also went to Kemilworth Castle, whose Hallowe’en night was amazing, and Warwick Castle.
I can’t thank the family enough for our stay and we’ll be heading back in the summer.

Peaceful spot away from the modern world 03/09/2018

Had a great time with my family and some friends who visited from abroad. Camping was a whole new thing for them and they loved it. Being modern city dwellers this was a real romantic getaway. There are just a few big tents within the orchard far away from each other with no caravans or normal camping. Even cars are parked away from the tents. We were told to help ourselves to apples which were delicious. As were the cider and apple juice available to take with an honesty box for payment. The whole place had a nice relaxed, homely feeling very different to some of the regimented sites we have been to in the past. I'm sure we'll be returning.

    Disliked:

Well, there is no electricity and limited phone signal on site but we saw that as a good thing. If you want electricity, book a hotel. Being late August and an orchard there were a few flies and wasps about but we brought citronella candles which seemed to do the trick.

Beautiful, secluded but comfortable 15/08/2018

Beautiful secluded setting, with just enough amenities and conveniences to feel comfortable but also keep the feel of camping in the middle of nowhere. Loved that there were only 4 tents on the site, and they were all spread out enough to not be seen directly from our tent. Felt very safe with our two small kids. Tents are tastefully furnished - bed was more comfortable than our own at home, and we were perfectly warm. Charlotte is a lovely host too. Will definitely recommend to all our friends!

If you want to take it back to basics and go off grid then you won’t go far wrong with The Apple Farm.
It was perfect for my 3 year old and myself. Peaceful, private and safe for the kids to roam. We stayed in one of the smaller tents and still found it quite spacious, my boy loved it.
Charlotte was extremely helpful all the way through the booking and on site.
I really can’t say a bad thing out stay.
The local pub is a must if you’re hungry.
