The Apple Farm

Polubione I stopped here in my campervan on my way home from France. This is a lovely site on a working farm which is always my preference due to being as close to wild camping without actually being in the wilds alone. It was very quiet and peaceful, not a sound was heard and I slept really well! Dark sky too, a bonus on a clear night! Owner emailed with all the directions and information that was required. I loved the quirky interior of the facilities, really authentic and in keeping with the setting. Facilities were spotlessly clean! Not sure why people complain about gates to open - you're camping so its hardly a problem to get out of your vehicle for a few minutes! Also assures you of safety and security which being a solo traveller I value highly! Highly important in my opinion.

Polubione Nice space for camping, clean and tidy campsite. Unlike the description, you are able to park by your tent, which was very useful due to the weather.

Niepolubione Toilets and shower block in another field, they were clean and tidy. Issues getting consistent temperature with the shower block which was a little frustrating.

Also, 2x gates to get through to get to the farm. Severe wet weather over the weekend meant unlocking padlocked fences took time, getting absolutely soaking wet.

We are sorry that you had an issue with the temperature in the showers.. We will be sure to get that checked.
We do have a long farm drive with two gates. These are for the security of the site and for the safety of the livestock as we are a working farm. It also means that there is no external traffic onsite.
Of course we cannot control The Great British weather and its a pity that the rain spoiled your enjoyment. You also seem to have submitted the same review 10 times. Please could you remove the other duplicates? We work very hard to provide a great experience for everyone and the repeat reviews have an unfair effect on our overall rating.

Polubione Lovely soft flat grass, surrounded by undulating and tree lined fields. Beautiful birdsong in the morning.

Polubione Lovely pitches, beautiful setting and walks.
Plenty of facilities, showers, toilets, kitchen/washing up.
Visiting the pigs, goats and chickens each morning was so great. And giving the cow with the speckled face a scritch.

Polubione The ease of booking and the assurance of confirmation.
The welcome email was fantastic! It included everything needed-Location postcode, description of entrance, wonderful directions down to the campsite and information for the shop, showers and toilets.

The campsite it's self, a wonderful layout. A feeling of privacy with each pitch. Good size pitch with nice segregation from others. The inclusion of a fire pit was brilliant.

Niepolubione I wish I was there longer to fully experience the site.

Unfortunately I found quite a few stones when pithing up. Nothing unworkable, just made putting the pegs deep enough a bit trick.

Polubione Nergens blij mee. Met tentje in open veld zonder beschutting. Prijs/kwaliteit schaamteloos.

Niepolubione Een erg slechte camping voor een schandalig hoge prijs. We betaalden meer dan 60£ (pond) voor 2 nachten. Geen elektriciteit, douches werkten niet of alleen koud water. Zeer slecht toegankelijk.

Liked: Not happy with anything. Camping in an open field with no shelter. Price/quality is outrageous
Disliked: A very bad campsite for a scandalously high price. We paid more than £60 for 2 nights. No electricity, showers did not work or only had cold water. Very poorly accessible.Private feedback: It's disgraceful to charge so much money without offering anything in return. We feel cheated! Request for a refund of the reservation to the Groefsema family.

We are a little confused. We have 4 team members on site. You also have a phone number directly to us. We didn't hear from you during your stay.
You had booked a non electric grass pitch and then you are unhappy with no electricity? The camping meadow is of course an open field and any shelter that you bring would be your own. The pitches are huge and flat. There are 6 showers onsite and they are checked daily.
We are an off grid, back to basics grass camping site ( unless you are glamping of course)
Perhaps there has been a language barrier and you were expecting a more commercial holiday site.
On the upside thank you for 5 out of 5 for cleanliness!

Polubione Pitches nicely spaced out and private, nice size with room to park your car. Facilities kept nice and clean throughout the day and nice hot water. The orchard near showers looked absolutely stunning, trees laden with beautiful red fruit, which the owner after having a nice chat with her said I was able to take some apples, which I jumped at the chance as they were so delicious. The pigs (were pigs) and loved being fed apples and the sheep loved picked grass. The goats are really funny and have just had their area made bigger by Jake one of the volunteers and the goats seem to love it….. there are 3 lovely Guinea pigs too. There is a fridge and freezer that campers can also use and a very small shop to get apple juice, sausage etc. The town centre is only about 3miles away, we got an Uber from Cobbs in the morning which was about £8. Cobbs is a cafe/ shop next door to the opening to the farm, which is definitely worth a visit, quite expensive but some fab stuff. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back at some point. There are also 2 brand new shepherd huts being added to the site later this year, which will be a lovely addition 😊
