Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: We were pleasantly surprised with this campsite. It could be because we travelled mid-May at the time of school exams, so there were not that many other campers. The field is huge, pretty level, but it slopes closer to the toilet blocks. As someone else mentioned, there is no barrier between the day visitors to the farm and the campsite, but we were not bothered. The site is very popular for its pizza restaurant and the cafe. We tried both and the quality of food and coffee was great. Toilet block was clean, we did not use the showers. And it was quiet during the night - someone advised the earplugs, but the noise levels from the motorway were minimal.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Showers and toilets were really clean. As was the wash up facilities. Onsite cafe and pizza barn are lovely. Can choose your own pitch. Will be returning soon. We made a suggestion that perhaps some outdoor heaters in the pizza barn. Would have spent more time there had it been warmer.

Disliked: Nothing.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Fantastic spot, huge large open field, can pitch anywhere, kids free to roam and still able to keep an eye on them. Staff very helpful and friendly. Really well kitted out play park that suited both younger and older kids overlooking the sheep. Pizza night was 10/10 as was the cafe. We did a lovely walk through farmers fields, through echo tunnels and found a fab pub at the end. Shower facilities where the cleanest I’ve seen and experienced. Highly recommend and would go again.

Local attractions

Feeling the spirit of the outdoors? Then, you have several options for outdoorsy days out. Umberslade Adventure (10 minutes' drive) is a family-friendly place with archery, zipwires, tree climbing and low ropes courses. The Bear Grylls Adventure (25 minutes) is a little more challenging, of course, and has high ropes, a shark dive, escape rooms and an assault course designed for marines. While rowing boats will keep up some of the action in Stratford-upon-Avon (25 minutes), a more peaceful time might involve exploring Shakespeare’s Birthplace or catching a show at one of the three Shakespeare-inspired theatres. Cadbury World (30 minutes) in Birmingham will bring chocolate making into the mix. However, if it’s science you’re interested in, Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum (40 minutes) might be your first stop. There’s the West Midland Safari Park (45 minutes) too, for those who want to see some wildlife up close. When you fancy a visit to a historical place, Packwood House (15 minutes) is a local Tudor manor house and Warwick Castle (25 minutes) has years of history and a knight’s village and turrets among other historic features.
