What customers say
A family-friendly, well-maintained campsite with spacious pitches and excellent facilities including clean showers and toilets. Owners are consistently described as welcoming, friendly, and helpful, providing useful local information. The site offers a separate area for adults seeking a peaceful stay. Its convenient location for Alton Towers and surrounding attractions is frequently praised. Fire pit hire and picnic benches are popular additions. Occasional noise from other guests and proximity to the road were minor drawbacks for some.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely quiet site and love how they separated families from adult only campers. We were a group of 16 with kids aged 10 -12 years old between us and they played football every evening with other campers and explored the adjoining field.
Clean facilities and we had a fire pit on a couple of nights as well.
The owners also got our friends car started as well, so a bonus!
6 mins drive from Alton Towers.
5 mins drive from a from a great chippy called Jim's Plaice in Waterhouses.
10 mins drive from Stepping Stones at Dovedale and IIam National Trust property.

Great stay. Will come again and recommend to friends.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely clean, family friendly campsite. Great location. Loved the facilities, picnic benches, football & volleyball nets and fire pit hire. All the children from different camping groups came together to play, which was nice. There is also a separate area of the cam site for those without children who are looking for a more peaceful stay. Owners very welcoming and friendly. The local map with recommendations for things to do and places to eat was appreciated.
Disliked Nothing.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked My stay there was one of the best if not the best stays at campsite. Hosts welcomed me and found out my preferences then to be pointed at the best pitch . Facilities perfect no need to pay extra for showers. I will recommend this campsite to all my friends.

We will go back!
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Our first camping trip, we went for two nights and I wish all campsites were similar to the Rue Hill! Plenty of space in full capacity, lovely shower block (free showers, big enough to hang all your belongings inside but keep them dry while showering), 20p for hair dryer, washing up station and tap with drinking water, recycling, picnic bench for each tent, park your car next to your pitch, possibility to hire a fire pit… quiet after 10pm. Friendly owners, happy to help. Great base for visiting Peak District/ Alton Towers.
