Electric hardstanding and grass touring caravan pitch

Liked We stayed for a week looking for peace and quiet and that is exactly what we got. Beautiful surroundings with generous plots.
The facilities were like a home from home which made a lovely change for a campsite.

Disliked On arrival, there is no reception area to be greeted, (a real shame because Rosie was very welcoming when she popped round later on in the day).

Instead there is a small chalkboard with your name and allocated plot number. Unfortunately, this wasn't updated regularly, which caused alot of confusion for guests that arrived over the next few days.
There are mobile numbers to ring only to be greeted with confusion and told they will pop over later.

Liked The location is peaceful and beautiful, a very much needed contrast to busy Manchester where we live.
The owners are friendly and welcoming.
The pitches are a good size and offer a good level of privacy.

Disliked We visited during a busy bank holiday and the only issue we faced was the shower pressure and the water turning cold. That being said, we were pretty much the only people left on our last morning and the shower I had then was fine.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring caravan pitch

Liked It was local to places to visit and walks.
Showers were good and clean, well kept place.

Disliked Small and not suitable for towing a caravan- small plot, about 1 metre away from the tent next to us. Roads were also not suitable for caravans locally.
Had to ask where the waste pipe, water etc was as they were busy serving ordered take aways.
Site was advertised as a quiet site although there was a big party in tents and kids were kicking the ball everywhere and it states that at 10 it should be quiet but the group were loud until 11 and nothing was said to them, luckily it rained the next evening so it was quiet as it states.
Electric kept tripping using just the airfryer.
Shame we had this review but we expected quiet and we didn't get it, we also left a day earlier due to the big group (4*8berths) and we wanted sleep!

Liked We had a lovely 3 night break here with our young family where the kids felt safe with a homely feel.

The site is extremely well maintained and is a credit to the owners that work very hard to maintain the site.

We were greeted just after our arrival and were shown around the facilities.

This site only accepts green toilet fluid due to their treatment plant but this wasn’t an issue for us as we didn’t need to use the toilet in our caravan at all as the toilets were so clean and close to our pitch.

Toilet and washing up facilities are fantastic and always kept clean, the bathrooms are the best we’ve used on any camp site.

We would definitely use this site again, thank you for a pleasant stay.

Liked The site was lovely. The toilet/shower block was first class. Quiet, well maintained. Rose is lovely, engaging and helpful.

Disliked The lanes in and out of the caravan park. Tiny single track roads, no passing places and lots of huge pot holes. Watch out if you’ve a motor mover on your ‘van.

From the manager: Dear Dorothy,
Thank you for your lovely review!
We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful setting, well-maintained site and our facilities. we take great pride in keeping everything to a high standard. It was a pleasure having you stay with us.

We completely understand that the country lanes can be a challenge , especially for those not used to rural driving. While they do add to the charm and tranquility of our location, we always recommend taking it slow and planning arrival times to avoid the busiest periods. we appreciate your feedback and will continue to share any updates on local road conditions with our guests.
we'd love to welcome you back in the future.
safe travels and thank you again for your kind words.

What customers say

This is a quiet, well-maintained campsite with modern, spotless facilities, especially the shower and toilet blocks, which many describe as excellent or luxurious. Owners Rose and Philip are frequently praised for being friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Homemade pizzas and other food options delivered to pitches are a popular highlight. Some reviews mention the lanes to access the site can be narrow or challenging. While most guests found the site peaceful, one reviewer in May 2026 reported noise from a large party. A few guests felt there wasn't enough for children to do, though others found the play area suitable.

Local attractions

Whixall Nature Reserve, a 20-minute drive away, is one of the last few lowland raised bogs left in the British Isles and as such it’s home to a menagerie of birdlife along with some rather prehistoric sights, such as carnivorous sundew, adders (wear your boots) and six-inch water-skating raft spiders. The nearby Meres – lakes and wetlands formed at the end of the Ice Age – are all between 20 and 25 minutes away and make for fine walks and nature spotting: birdwatchers come from all over the country to Wood Lane Nature Reserve, next to Ellesmere, to spot avocets, lapwings and sandpipers. It's around an hour to the Shropshire Hills' Carding Mill Valley for yomps up heather-blanketed slopes, waterfalls and views towards the Black Mountains. Alternatively, report to Llangollen (45 minutes) for rides on the steam railway and down the canal, and it's a similar distance to walk the ‘stream in the sky’, otherwise known as the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. If you’re more into country houses, visit the eccentric tangle of statues, grottoes, bridges and tunnels created by various owners of Hawkstone Park Follies (15 minutes), or wander the 640 acres of country surrounding 18th-century Attingham Park, dotted with Iron Age and Roman ruins, half an hour away.
