Camping field with pottery studio and artist pods

Camping field in use - early may

  • Family-run Oxfordshire site at a smallholding with art studios
  • Didcot and Wantage 10 minutes' drive; half an hour to Oxford
  • On the edge of the North Wessex Downs, with great walks nearby
We are a family run three acre smallholding hosting an Arts Studio running pottery classes and workshops. We have a level, grass covered paddock that is ideal for camping. It is served by a purpose-built toilet block with two toilets, one shower, a wash-room and a kitchenette. We are 3.5 miles from the Ridgeway - an ancient track that, to the West goes past the White Horse at Uffington and to the East links up with the Thames Path near Goring. The Ickneild Way - like the Ridgeway an ancient long distance track - has recently been resurfaced between East Hendred and Lockinge to provide an excellent cycle path from East Hendred to Wantage. Wantage is an historic market town and the birthplace of King Alfred the Great. It is the nearest town for a good selection of shops, supermarkets and a weekly open air market in the town square. Reachable by car and bicycle (and in some cases by foot) are some excellent places to eat and drink. Steventon is easily achieved by foot or bike, while the Hendreds, Ardington and Letcombe Regis are further afield.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely tidy site, great facilities. Handy location and the honesty shop & coffee machine are very useful to have (really good pastries & coffee!)

Disliked Sometimes you get a tiny bit of road noise from Featherbed lane, but it's not a problem!

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location is lovely - easy to get to the A34. Available fridge with freezer compartment for ice blocks.

Disliked Small pitches… 2nd night site fully booked - felt too cramped. With 2 toilets and 1 shower folks were having to wait for the shower even at 7 in the morning.

A real cool place to stay whether for overnight stops or a weeks stay

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked This is our 3rd stay at Muster Point, our last two were only short so wanted to come back for a longer stay.

We were on a working holiday and knew there was good internet for EE, so I could work remotely. We needed to bring a Trailer for our motorbike and Mark and Ali were really accommodating.

The site is clean, smart and well kept, the toilets and shower are immaculate (some people are saying not enough toilets but in the week we stayed they were always free and clean) It was lovely and quiet in the week, which was wonderful, but just as lovely at the weekend when it filled up with families, children were all respectful and quiet, it was a great atmosphere.

There is a farm shop near by, a co-op for stocking up and a couple of local pubs. The site has an honesty shop for coffee, eggs, drinks etc.

This is a little gem of a place and we will certainly be regulars when travelling that way, Thank you Mark & Ali for your wonderful hospitality and a few classes of home brew 🧡🐝

Disliked That it isn't nearer for us to visit more often 😉

Lovely spot and hope to revisit
