  • Family-run Oxfordshire site at a smallholding with art studios
  • Didcot and Wantage 10 minutes' drive; half an hour to Oxford
  • On the edge of the North Wessex Downs, with great walks nearby
We are a family run three acre smallholding hosting an Arts Studio running pottery classes and workshops. We have a level, grass covered paddock that is ideal for camping. It is served by a purpose-built toilet block with two toilets, one shower, a wash-room and a kitchenette. We are 3.5 miles from the Ridgeway - an ancient track that, to the West goes past the White Horse at Uffington and to the East links up with the Thames Path near Goring. The Ickneild Way - like the Ridgeway an ancient long distance track - has recently been resurfaced between East Hendred and Lockinge to provide an excellent cycle path from East Hendred to Wantage. Wantage is an historic market town and the birthplace of King Alfred the Great. It is the nearest town for a good selection of shops, supermarkets and a weekly open air market in the town square. Reachable by car and bicycle (and in some cases by foot) are some excellent places to eat and drink. Steventon is easily achieved by foot or bike, while the Hendreds, Ardington and Letcombe Regis are further afield.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely tree lined field, so well protected from any wind. Toilet and shower facilities were excellent and clean. Kitchenette was very useful to be able to wash up properly. All the pitches were level and good sized.

Disliked: Quite a lot of noise from the roads around, but this isn’t a remote campsite so was to be expected.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Friendly, small, quirky, very clean, cosy, quiet. Will bring frying pans for on-site eggs next time! If busy, one shower might be a bit limiting, but no problem for us.

Liked: Nestled in the serene countryside just a stone's throw away from the bustling city of Oxford, this campsite is an absolute gem for those seeking a tranquil escape while still being close to all the urban attractions. This campsite truly excels in offering clean and well-maintained facilities. The shower and restroom areas are spotless, and hot water is readily available.
