Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Location, short walk to village pub, lots to do in local area. Clean and modern toilet block with full bathroom facilities (toilet and sink) in each shower room (I think there were 6 of them, never had issue getting one) plus additional toilets and sink cubicles. Children’s play area. Nice spacing between pitches. Picnic benches to use on grass between pitches. Helpful and friendly staff.

Disliked: Push plates on some of the toilets in both male and female toilets were loose and pushed in too far then didn’t come back up so next person couldn’t flush. Crack in sink in one of the shower rooms.

Liked: We had a fantastic few days camping on silver hill camp site. Very helpful staff, spotless showers and toilet facilities. Shop on site. Pitches well placed and some privacy offered by nature hedges, plenty of walks straight off the site and a pub close by what more could you want enjoyed every minutes.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Not alot to say about the place there was nothing to do .But must say the park was very well kept and the toilet blocks were emaculate.

Disliked: The walks would have been nice but there was dog dirt all over the place not cleaned up by dog owners .

From the manager: Good Afternoon Thank you for your review. I would like to answer to your comments left if I may: 1. You have stated - 'There was nothing to do'. Our touring site is for those who enjoys the walks around the area or visiting any of the stately homes etc. On our website, it is clearly stated that we are in a rural area, with no entertainment. 2. You have stated - 'The walks would have been nice but there was dog dirt all over the place not cleaned up by dog owners' . Can you please clarify that this was not on the park, but in fact on one of the walks away from the park. 3. You have stated - 'The park was very well kept and the toilet blocks were immaculate'. Thank you for this comment, it is appreciated and I will pass this on to our lovely team, who work hard to make Silverhill Woodland Retreats a great place to relax and unwind. Kindest Regards

Good site for travel down the M1 or for longer holidays.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The site was really clean, well presented with excellent facilities, the showers were large wet rooms which was clean and spacious (I usually hate using showers facilities as they aren’t always clean but these were great). The pitch was well kept and a good size and there was a lovely little park for younger children. The staff were really helpful, polite, friendly and jovial, we booked on pitch up with another family and they was able to facilitate us being next to each other. It’s a quiet site with some nice short walking areas across the road and it’s 5 min walk to the village and pub. The pub served great food with good portion sizes but slightly more expensive that usual pub food but it was very nice so worth it. We only stayed for a weekend so didn’t explore much further but it was a lovely peaceful weekend get away, if you are after site with loads to do this isn’t it but we enjoyed it.

Disliked: The site shop was limited to stock but the village wasn’t a few mins walk and to be fair we had everything we needed so this is me just finding a dislike.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Lovely maintained site . Shop on site that sells bits and bobs. Really modern showers and toilets . Climbing frame for the kids . Great location from the site for many walks.

Disliked: Pitches are close together , which we thought it would be too noisy but it was quiet after 21:30
